I had built up a relationship with god a long time before I met this girl Angelique lol. And you don't have to read the bible to understand the basic principles of Christianity and what Christ stands for. It is common knowledge (As a concept, whether or not you accept it as truth)

What happened recently was that I actually made the jump of faith and committed myself to Christ. I have been on speaking terms with god for a long time. Your post makes no sense to me whatsoever. God exists without the bible.

Oh and FYI: Me and Angelique had a little thing going a while ago but it never turned into anything serious, now we are just friends.

Well, after all of the dead saints rose up and roamed the holy city at the same time Jesus came back to life, I'm guessing the news traveled pretty fast by word of mouth.

Word of mouth.. still kickin after 2000 years. Truth is everyone receives Christ when the Spirit of God draws a man and convicts that man of sin. Revelation of Christ by the Holy Spirit.

when u write the word God your spose to capitalize it to not is to lump him into the the category with other religions gods, i laugh every time i see all these Christians blatantly disrespecting God, get to together Christains

unless its Satan worshipers on this thread, and with Satan being there God, they cant capitilize god out of respect to Satan

I have no problem sharing the word of god if people are interested what I meant was I won't shove it in peoples faces and make them feel uncomfortable! People tried that with me quite a lot and it did my freakin head in! I starred your post it was a good read.

No you don't have to read it but you should want to. There's alot of history there you need to know. One thing you won't find in most bibles is his name Yahweh or the tetragrammaton hebrew version of YHWH. Satan is doing his best to make people forget his name and use his titles, even though we're told that anyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved, they think his name is LORD when it's Yahweh.

Other things in the OT (Tenach) have historical significance and lessons to be learned, and prophecy and the prophetic meaning and application of the Feastdays of Yahweh.

You seem to not understand what the Living Word is. He is the Torah and Yahweh made flesh. Saying the Tenach is unecessary is like saying the Messiah is unecessary. You have fallen a long way to insult Christ Akragon. I'll tell you this little bit, the rest is for you to learn on you own. The OT is one of the witnesses to the identity of Yahweh and Christ. The fact that you do not know this surprises me. Maybe thats why you don't know who Messiah is, because the Tenach is "unecessary".

g,day mate. well done. im proud of you and i pray that the Lord will watch over you, bless you heal you and open understanding of his word to you as you commence your journey of discovery. mate, i read until something, a phrase a verse jumps out at me then i stop. wow i say and then think about the wow. i would suggest as others have that you not disgard the ot. as Jesus gets a mention in the third chapter of genesis and a lot more later on. but start where you feel the need, or where you feel the holy spirit wants you to start. remember. those that are led by the spirit are fed by the spirit. now thats gotta be cool. ask and then watch the spirit of God open up understanding to you. the book of james, toward the end of the new test. chapter one verse five may be of help. it is about asking God for wisdom.... i try to start each day with this. You Lord God are the Great Creator of the heavens the earth and the sky in between. thank you Father, in Jesus name thankyou, that i can hear the birds singing and watch the clouds march across the sky bringing life giving rain to the crops to help us feed the world. dont be afraid to get on your knees. i get on my knees and pray for my family my country and yours too my freind. i also have several phrases i like to remember. they may be of service to you... it is good with my soul... this is the day that the lord has made. i will rejoice and be glad in it.... and... ceasar might have said it, BUT. You Lord Jesus You Did It. You Came, You Saw, and You Conquered ALL. mate you will be attacked verbally, and spiritually. why, because now you have shown yourself to be against the ruler of this world. so, dress yourself in the full armour of God. Just be sure you find your own way and take your own walk with God. Don't let any "church" or "group" determine who you are and what you believe. Read, think, pray, then think some more.
I believe in God and believe there is a higher power. I'm also a scientist. Many people think they're exclusive, they aren't. ... I had just been looking at all the science/tech threads you posted and happened upon this one. You're on the right track!

Don't be discouraged but don't be suckered in to a man-made group either. It's a tough journey, but the spirituality as opposed to the "religion" is well worth the trip!

Spirituality is from God, religion is from man. It's a matter of taking in all that man has created and learning more about God in the process without letting yourself be taken in by man alone

That is a very brave post on ATS.
