I love science!

This is very cool. they figured out a way to give sight to people suffering from faulty retinas.
Hopefully in the future they can figure out how to directly inject images into your brain.

After a lot of theorizing, postulating, and non-human trials, it looks like bionic eye implants are finally hitting the market — first in Europe, and hopefully soon in the US. These implants can restore sight to completely blind patients — though only if the blindness is caused by a faulty retina, as in macular degeneration (which millions of old people suffer from), diabetic retinopathy, or other degenerative eye diseases.

Okay, you get the thermal eyeball while I buy the X-ray model. You can tell me if the women are healthy and without any fevers...and I can tell you if what hides beneath makes dating a worthwhile effort!

I remember reading about a woman who has actually had one of these eyes fitted and she said she could roughly make out her sons basketball game. Beautiful stuff, I can't imagine a world without sight!!

I am one of those sci-fi nuts that thinks if only we could get past all the BS we would do amazing things, bringing sight to the blind is damn near biblical.

If only we'd stop trying to blow each other up imagine what the military budget of the us alone could do for science if properly channeled.
