And as a 2nd wave SC, I'm tired of it.
the most intelligent prefer to use it to their worldly advantage, and the rest bury their heads in the sand while worshipping a god based on a two thousand year old book.

My apologies for the post. I have a severe dislike for people too afraid of thinking for themselves. Combined with occasional misunderstanding (which I am also capable of) it shows through at times.
Again, apologies. I am, after all, only human. Emotions are in my blood, so to speak.edit on 18-7-2012 by AfterInfinity because: (no reason given)
What post are you referring to? You haven't offended me in any way.
First off, I take it very seriously. Something like that can't just be shrugged off or shifted down the list; there are too many connotations, too many "if we have this, then there must be that, which means this is also blah blah blah" going on. Way too much important stuff to take it anything less than seriously...not that I can stop people from laughing at me if they choose to.
Second, that little guy waved six times, which makes you sixth wave. And not very big waves, either.
For decades, neuroscientists, psychologists, and an army of brain researchers have been struggling, in vain, to explain the phenomenon of consciousness. Now there is a clear trail to the answer, and it leads through the dense jungle of quantum physics, Zen, and subjective experience, and arrives at an unexpected destination. In this tour-de-force of scientific investigation, Evan Harris Walker shows how the operation of bizarre yet actual properties of elementary particles support a new and exciting theory of reality, based on the principles of quantum physics-a theory that answers questions such as "What is the nature of consciousness, of will?" "What is the source of material reality?" and "What is God?”
Well, history is full of civilizations clashing, and for that matter, of civilizations not clashing. And the story of the role played by religious ideas—fanning the flames or dampening the flames, and often changing in the process—is instructive. I think it tells us what we can do to make the current “clash” more likely to have a happy ending.
The second aspect of the current world situation I’ll address is another kind of clash—the much-discussed “clash” between science and religion. Like the first kind of clash, this one has a long and instructive history. It can be traced at least as far back as ancient Babylon, where eclipses that had long been attributed to restless and malignant supernatural beings were suddenly found to occur at predictable intervals—predictable enough to make you wonder whether restless and malignant supernatural beings were really the problem.
Agreed. I'm just saddened to think this world and its guardians, Homo Sapiens, could have gone so many wonderful places together...
But instead, this. Everything around us. The wars and disease and absolute disrespect for life itself. The rule of external stimuli, and the disregard for spiritual science. It's heartbreaking.
I need a sign, to let me know you're here
All of these lines are being crossed over the atmosphere
I need to know, that things are gonna look up
'Cause I feel us drowning in a sea spilled from a cup
When there is no place safe and no safe place to put my head
When you can feel the world shake from the words that are said
And I'm, calling all Angels
And I'm, calling all you Angels
And I won't give up, if you don't give up
I won't give up, if you don't give up
I won't give up, if you don't give up
I won't give up, if you don't give up
I need a sign to let me know you're here
'Cause my TV set just keeps it all from being clear
I want a reason for the way things have to be
I need a hand to help build up some kind of hope inside of me
And I'm, calling all Angels
And I'm, calling all you Angels

When children have to play inside, so they don't disappear
While private eyes solve marriage lies 'cause we don't talk for years
And football teams are kissing queens and losing sight of having dreams
In a world where what we want is only what we want until it's ours
And I'm, calling all Angels
And I'm, calling all you Angels
And I'm, calling all Angels
