A 6.9 earthquake has been recorded by usgs.gov. Could a possible tidal wave be associated with this quake?

What the hell is going on? The blanket response to these types of things is that "There are always earthquakes...storms...flooding..."

But you can't tell me earthquake activity over the last month hasn't been significantly increased...as well as volcanic activity.

4 hurricanes make landfall with devastating impacts...3 Cat 3 and above...one of the most active tornado periods I can remember (a lot were spawned by the remnants of the hurricanes) - flooding almost EVERYWHERE in the eastern U.S. over the last month.

Maybe this IS just an abberation, or maybe The Mayas were on to something? Maybe the weather will get more and more extreme until 2012...
