Here is an article published today:

business.financialpost.com...

Spanish civil servants, many dressed in mourning black, took to the streets Friday in angry protest as the government approved new sweeping austerity measures that include wage cuts and tax increases for a country struggling under a recession and an unemployment rate of near 25%.

This is actually what we need, and is something positive. Let the government start turning on its' own, and then you will see change.

Non-civil servants are considered disposable; governments do not care about them. It's perceived as being easier to give police riot ordinance, and let them beat the general public into the footpath, than it is to enact changes which would stop the public from rioting.

The governments care more about pleasing the bankers, than they do their own people; and both groups have diametrically opposing desires.

We are paying 20% VAT(value added tax) in the UK too. As for fuel and cigarettes, I lost track years ago. I think it's about 70% tax, something like that.

Until banking CEOs start literally getting thrown through the windows of their offices, people can march up and down the streets as much as they want, and nothing will change.

Psychopaths have no capacity for empathy or compassion. They don't care about you having the moral high ground by engaging in hunger strikes, or whatever else happens to be your favourite form of non-violent resistance. The only way to cause them to change their behaviour, is to cause them to fear for their own lives; because there is absolutely nothing that you can say or do, which will make them give a damn about yours.

Where is the +1,000 stars button when you really need it?
People don't like to hear it, but it's the truth. Sometimes I think the "no cruel and unusual punishment" was put there just to protect THEM. They should be afraid. Very afraid. And hell, I'm a very compassionate individual. But for the scum of the earth, I wouldn't shed a tear.

Don't the Vatican have their own police force, as well? Makes you wonder, right?

i cant believe you guys cant see whats being exposed is because of peaceful protest.

nwo =

order out of caos

we must remain peaceful,
all the police forces have been militarized,
hell some even have tanks and apcs

we need to set up civil suits like they did in italy.

if we weaken them publicly, legally and non violently
the GAs will react

all peaceful

I disagree. If protesters across the US became violent, there would be enormous backlash involving the US military.

Agreed.
I see what's happening, I read what ya'll post around here and I honestly believe if, for example, the people finally revolted here in the Metro-Detroit area, the military would be put on the streets in a flat freaking heartbeat.

It seems like, with what I see happening in the political arena, they're almost expecting it to happen.
It seems like people in Spain are awake. They see it, they get it. They're aware.

Here in the US people are constantly told: quit complaining! You have it so good. You have cell phones, ipads, laptops and all that. And to an extent that is true. However, it's a bit like opium. People are drugged by the feel good of the day. In the process freedoms are being ripped away and politicians are waging wars. One of these days it'll be like someone threw ice water on the American Populace and the revolution will begin.
Problem is, by then, it'll be too late.

The people were asleep at the wheel while the country crashed and burned.

The pic was posted yesterday, whether it is new or not is another question.

Not too sure how new it is either. I had a friend return from Spain almost 2 years ago and he said Spain was revolting then. Could be getting worse in the PIIGS though.

Economists refer to Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain by the acronym 'The Pigs' when talking about the Eurozone crisis. They are now going to group Cameroon, Uganda, Nigeria, Togo and Somalia together when thinking about African countries with failing economies.

Dang, if this is true Go Spain!!!!

Such a shame the "home of the brave" is really the home of the most cowardly populace on the planet.

Every country is revolting and we just sit back and take it.

That's because TPTB have given you the NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, Nascar, PGA, Las Vegas, DisneyWorld and Land, Atlantic City, porno on every corner in major cities, etc. to keep you "occupied"....

Is the protest just people who live off state hand-outs wanting more hand-outs?

The opposite of a revolution, people who want everything to stay the same despite the fact that their greed has bankrupted the country.

I expect the Germans will give them the money they need.
someone always has to rain on the parade don't they? do you have ANY idea how huge this could be? we are all pawns in a sick twisted game the world banks have created. when the revolution really starts here you will have to choose to hop on board or get out of the way. this is real. people are waking up.

Ok, just had a look through my Facebook homepage and someone on my friend list posted this picture:

With this text as description:

This is from Valencia, Spain, about an hour ago. But you wouldn't know from watching the media, they've already made the decision to not televise the revolution.

Share this widely if you stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Spain, who continue to fight the culture of banking corruption and greed that rules governments worldwide.

I don't know what to make of this. Is this actually happening and if so, can anyone provide more info please?

Found this website in spanish, not sure if it's actually a Spanish website or just a website geared towards Spanish speakers. It has a lot of articles on Latin America as well. The article I am posting was posted 3 days ago. The title of this article is: Spain nearing a revolution.

periodismolibre.com..." target="_blank" class="postlink">Espana se acerca a la revolucion

I won't translate word for word but the article talks about thousands of protesters who gathered outside La Puerta del Sol (Door of the Sun or Sun's Door) in the city center of Madrid. They were protesting in solidarity with the miners and against the latest austerity measures. It says shortly after 10 PM, the police started firing rubber bullets into the crowd and people dispersed. With so many people out on the streets, some ran into stores still open for business seeking refuge. I believe it says a cop hit two women coming out of the English court who were coming from the street? In all, 8 people were arrested and 70 injured or treated by medical personnel.

DAM! And its working too! I love all that stuff! Well, except for NHL and PGA, but they make up for that with the overwhelming amount of porn and alcohol.

Seriously, I think you're on to something. We won't revolt, no matter how much of slaves we have become, because we are fat and pacified slaves. It is sad.
