I would like to see this natural phenomena called
Bioluminescence
Occurs whena micro-organismin the water is disturbed by oxygen

Although a rare sight on a shoreline, the phenomenon is more commonly seen at sea in the wake of ships that stir up the oxygen in the sea, which causes the bioluminescent bacteria to glow.

It is a popular phenomenon and people go see it especially whenever it happens

I've seen this twice in the UK before now, an interesting and rather scary thing to see.

First time, looking over the River Mersey from New Brighton on a warm August evening. As the waves broke upon the shore, there was an electric blue flickering across the wave tops.

Second time, and this was the scary bit, was walking along the beach on the coast of the Lake District a few hours before dawn, again this was a a warm summers morning so maybe around August again.

My friend and I noticed, as we were walking, we were leaving faintly luminous footprints behind us as we were walking upon the wet sand. Seeing as we were not too far from Sellafield reprocessing plant at the time we did wonder....

A bit of research later and we found the probable cause being this phenomenom.

I forgot to add, it was nowhere as intense as that photo you have posted, but still quite easy to see.

There's a long shutter speed on that photo - so it probably wasn't as bright as that, but still, very beautiful.
