I agree. You may not own the mineral rights to your own property. It happens all the time.

Read your deed. If you can't find the deed, go to the courthouse where it is filed.

Still would like to know what basin its on.....if it is in fact true.

Congrats man!! Hopefully it is an oil reserve, and not a pipeline that you just damaged. If I struck oil on my land, I'd probably get a bill in the mail for repairing someone else's stuff instead of getting a big contract to pump the oil.
