The lethal Presidency of Barak Obama

Sure, we as a nation have always killed people. A lot of people. But no president has ever waged war by killing enemies one by one, targeting them individually for execution, wherever they are. The Obama administration has taken pains to tell us, over and over again, that they are careful, scrupulous of our laws, and determined to avoid the loss of collateral, innocent lives. They're careful because when it comes to waging war on individuals, the distinction between war and murder becomes a fine one. Especially when, on occasion, the individuals we target are Americans and when, in one instance, the collateral damage was an American boy.

His name was Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, and he was 16 years old when he died — when he was killed by a drone strike in Yemen, by the light of the moon. He was the son of Anwar al-Awlaki, who was also born in America, who was also an American citizen, and who was killed by drone two weeks before his son was, along with another American citizen named Samir Khan. Of course, both Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan were, at the very least, traitors to their country

But Abdulrahman al-Awlaki wasn't on an American kill list. Nor was he a member of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninusla. Nor was he "an inspiration," as his father styled himself, for those determined to draw American blood; nor had he gone "operational," as American authorities said his father had, in drawing up plots against Americans and American interests.

So this is a very interesting article and video (contained in the MSNBC link), about the increase use of Drone attacks being used against suspected terrorists. It also looks at the killing of American citizen and 16 year old Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, the son of Anwar al-Awlaki, also born in America. It is interesting that neither Democrats or Republicans challenge the use of these weapons in such an arbitrary fashion.

Great post, however I think it will get lost in the space of the cloud drive it resides on. It still makes me crazy to think that the American people have not banded together yet to hold your leaders accountable for the atrocious crimes being committed everyday by the cartel your tax dollars are supporting.

Its no different than paying a mobster to protect you from all the bad people out there when you realize they are the only real bad people.

Where is a class action lawsuit against your government? OR, a majority of American's must support this criminal behaviour thus no need to do anything, continue down the road of paying taxes and being an accomplice to all these crimes. Just curious if tax payers can be held accountable for the expulsion of human life in the past 10 years.

Some interesting stats here: The War on Terror in Numbers

Somebody needs to do something soon!
