Last I read the melting of the permafrost was not only adding freshwater to the artic waters disrupting the AO, but the additional methane produced was affecting climate changes in a much more major way than human-caused pollution. Add this to the solar issues we don't understand affecting climate, the disruption of the gulf stream an it's just a messy soup of causation for the wacked out weather.

Don't forget to add in-
deforestation,
earths core slowing down,
earth's core heating up the sea bed in the antartic,
it's flip a nickle time as to what was the most major trigger in weather changes
