WikiLeaks publishes Syria emails - live updates

www.guardian.co.uk

• The whistleblowing website WikiLeaks has begun publishing what it claims are more than two million emails involving the Assad regime's inner circle from August 2006 to March 2012 (see 12.18pm).

• President Bashar al-Assad has accused foreign governments of financing the uprising against him by paying people to protest.

• The UN's suspended supervision mission in Syria is to be restructured to focus on fewer areas, General Robert Mood, the head of the mission, has announced (see 10.09am).

• Switzerland has frozen arms exports to the UAE after grenades sold to the Gulf state

They're at it again, and this time it looks to be an actual quality release.

The problem with dumping 2 millions cables/email onto the internet is that it will take a while for the juicy bits to filter through properly, but The Guardian are doing a good job of keeping live updates on the files rolling so check out the source link.

Are you kidding? The Guardian is a broadsheet not a tabloid, they're like the opposite of a tabloid and have a very good reputation actually. You're probably thinking of The Sun.

I disagree that it has lost all its credibility over that. Compared to The Daily Mail or The Sun they're saints.

Your actually defending the Guardian? the mainstream news outlets all of them lost credibility
including the Guardian.

The moment they started trusting and using the Rebels as Journalists.

Unfortunately i don't believe the WikiLeaks emails, they can be pretty easily faked, sounds to me that the media are desperate.

Even if there was something important in them, it'll take quite a bit of time to sort out the quarter-million cables.

It's a bit like a friend saying he'll loan you his HDMI cable to watch a game on TV, only to have him show up with a rat's nest of electrical wires and tell you that you'll have to untangle the HDMI from the mess if you want to use it. And, of course, the game is over by the time you've got it freed and plugged in.

No, I'm thinking of ALL British news media.
Left Right Left Right.....(March in time appropriately).
They ALL have their own agenda.
Just because it sits on your side of the fence, doesn't make it real.
They ALL lie, they ALL have an agenda.
WAKE UP!!!!!!!
Free thought is not found in the consumer based publications you buy.
A Counterweight is still a weight.
Hello?

I am always amazed how people on here bag out the MSM as corrupt and manipulating and then use the MSM as justification and a needed source to provide them with "credible information" Guardian is part of MSM so if one bags out MSM then shouldn't the Guardian be also not used as credible? Just a thought. It sort of matches up with manhater's post asking who TPTB were and even though heaps of people squeal about how "they" are going to get us, those same people couldn't answer who "they" were.

Mr. J.A. as i know all to well that various internet posts do reach your ears so to speak, we feel that your gift to the u.s. dpt of Justice has not gone unnoticed as to the syrian emails. J, did you think such a coincidence would go unnoticed , however i can also understand the reprecautions involved in not doing what one is told when playing in the big leagues.

mate, the guardian is a good newspaper (or at least one of the best we've got), you should read everything critically and should never take what you're being told as absolute truth, but for me that goes without saying. the guardian is well written and the standard of journalism is reasonable good, some of the comment and analysis is a bit champagne socialist but i take it as what it is..... a newspaper...... if i want to know the truth, i go outside and open my eyes.... or stay inside and read the cables myself, but i can't be bothered to do that because it will not really benefit me to do so, would rather do something productive... which is what i'm going to do now.
don't believe the hype...
