That's a joke comment right? That's the most absurd thing I've read this week. You should get a job coming up with fine print (that's a joke in case you thought otherwise). They aren't fair and balanced, that's just a motto so the people that buy into their tripe will think it's fair.

If you really think it means fair and balanced for their audience everone of your posts comes into focus and you need to do some midnight cram sessions. What you suggest doesn't even make sense. Why would they need to be fair and balanced if their audience shared the same opinions (well they all do but they want them to think people that disagree are watching rather than calling fox viewers idiots which is reality).

Actually, no, its because they have laws that require news stations to tell the truth and be quality. Propaganda laws in the US should have brought FOX down. They could probably air in Canada, but not while calling themselves news. It shouldn't be allowed here for them to play non news shows while everything on the channel indicates it is a 24/7 news channels. Fox has on several occasions posted stories from the onion spreading crazy stories as well as ignorance, and never actually retracting them or admitting the mistake.

How can you ignore that? You will justify any and everything they do and that is a problem, the fact you don't want to rectify it in the least is another problem. I suspect you're a troll, but if you are not you are a radiant example of an unpatriotic, uncaring, american. You are happy in the dark not even looking for a light swirch.

You always have some weak "witticism," as in your last post, but they aren't real answers they are just your shallow happy thoughts you use so you don't ACTUALLY have to think about the real why. You really think that calling Canada communist is a serious answer. Ok that's garbage now why dontt you go and fine a real answer? Because you don't want to. You don't make these posts to learn. You make them to argue and spread ignorance not get real answers.

Yeah not really a news station at all. The closest thing to news is the ticker at the bottom. What people like OP don't understand is that is is just a station that pushes Rupert Murdochs positions and propaganda. None of the pundits are sharing their actual views, they say what Murdoch tells them too.

Op do you know who Rupert Murdoch is? Without looking him up? I sincerely doubt it and you can tell us you do, but you yourself know the truth. Look him up. Look up what he has done in the UK. He is a super right wing loont scumbag and you are kind of worshipping his ideology if you really like the agenda fox pushes. Please look him up.

Is Fox the one with O'Reilly on it? Is it the one with Hannity on it? Is it the one that shows down here at around 6.30 am in Australia a bunch of people sitting around bagging out their guests? If it is, then O'Reilly isn't there to interview people, he is there to try and ambush them with leading questions so that he can then stand on his soap box and shout at people. Obnoxious is a word that comes to mind. Hannity is little better, he just needs to have someone else help him to get up onto HIS soapbox. Again, a loudmonth that isn't really trying to interview but rather shaout AT people. And the group sitting around bagging out whoever they can sort of speaks for itself. A suggestion might be for them to take a look at a few Aussie interviewers. (Ben Fordham and Chris Kenny or Kennedy not sure which excepted as they are prime contestants for US news broadcasting Fordham for his gutter tactics out in the field and Kenny for his argumentative and soapbox approach) They put forward a question and then LET the person give an answer. Something about manners, about principles, about courtesy, about IQ ah! I have answered my own statements re O'Reilly and Hannety. They must both have low IQs and cater to the loud mouthed sector of the USA. Anyway, if those people ARE on FOX, then maybe, that is an answer to your heading.

Agreed. They all are horrendous. Any "Morning Joe" or Good Morning America or Nancy Grace type program is horrendous. I thought most people who watched these programs were 80 and waiting to die. For the OP to deny that many of the viewers repeat the talking points of these OPINION programs as if they were fact is disingenuous. MOST do.

I'd also like to point out I have NEVER once seen a thread about how much someone LOVES CNN, ABC, MSNBC, etc. Never - it is only FOX where people feel obligated to make threads about "their" "news". Please someone show me a thread DEFENDING ANY OTHER NETWORK NEWS as the premise. Only for FOX.

Do people attack the News Network just because its conservative? If you truly believe that the MSM lies, why place all the blame on Fox News? I personally find Fox News a breath of fresh air among the liberal media! And yes, all the other stations are liberal.Fox News is the only channel that leans conservative, especially at night. During the day it's the same as all the others.

Have any of the other Fox News bashers actually ever watched Fox News? Or do you just listen to botched youtube videos that can easily be edited to make any news network look bad. Not to mention that Media Matters is out there, bashing Fox News every chance it gets. So what's worse? Watching botched Youtube videos and listening to them, or watching the MSM and listening to them?

You have some explaining to do Fox News haters. I bet I will find that the majority of people will say they hate Fox News because it is conservative and bias.... So I guess you want a liberal monopoly on the news? Then how come Fox News is killing all the other liberal channels in the ratings combined?

Yes...all mainstream media is composed of bought-and-paid-for shills. However, there is something particularly exceptional about a channel who routinely features "news" personalities who dress up in Halloween costumes (Glenn Beck and his Hitler outfits) and invite "authors" who take the bold stand that radioactive fallout is HEALTHY for the human body (Ann Coulter appearing on Bill O'Reilly shortly after the Fukushima disaster). Ditto for "newscasters" who literally SCREAM over the top of their guests the very second the guest has a rational counterpoint that they don't agree with (every single minute of Bill O'Reilly's career at Fox News).

Sorry...but they DO deserve to hated more and YES if we must live in a corporate oligarchy...the country WOULD BE better off with a liberal monopoly on the media. At least we wouldn't so many people thinking that Creationism is valid viewpoint.

I used to watch beck because he said some intelligent things that noone would touch, but overall I don't trust the guy as he has been caught lying. He is a joker and gets the left riled up

Being in Australia I subscribe to "Foxtel" (pay TV) but stopped watching its news channels (MSNBC,FOX,CNN,BBC) soon after 9/11 - MSM diatribe doesn't cut it anymore, imo.

If I want to know the real story behind the story, any story, I wait until its posted on ATS.

It is usually dissected with precision from both sides and I am then able to make an informed decision. The likes of Phage and others of his ilk ensure you get the real picture.

I'm probably going to get made fun of for this observation but has anyone who watches Fox News notice how gorgeous most of the female anchors are?
They are stunning.
I would put money on it that this makes women on the left furious because they don't like to be objectified. On top of that I believe a lot of the female anchors are very educated. Lawyers even. This doesn't go well with the educated-woman-liberal ideology. That is probably a bone of contention as well.

This is just an observation. I'm not saying if I'm left or right. Just food for thought. Please don't attack!

I'm not sure if Fox "objectifying" women is the right term. They are definitely hiring mostly beautiful ones. Eye candy.

It's an easy target IMO... majority of the MSM is slanted one way... FNC is the opposition ...

For what it's worth, I used to watch FNC.. until they resorted to the same playbook as those they opposed...

Fair & balanced, might have been a good selling point, but it has lost it's punch as TPTB have been allowed them to promote an opposing agenda..


As much as I hated the 30 minutes of network news as a child.. (boring B&W broadcasts), I am eagerly awaiting the return of said NEWS...

Doubt it will happen, since B&W, just the facts, do not garner ratings..

it's all about the raitngs..it's all about the $$$$, the truth is what is left on the cutting room floor...

IMO .. of course..

We have to start looking at titles like, right left, conservative, progressive, etc, as distractions. Ultimately, when you ask americans how they want their country handled, they generally have a very strong direction. The R and D part of it just divides and makes us further think we are different, when more of us, on either side of the isle, have TONS of commonality when it comes to how we want our governement to work etc.

I feel also like fox news almost asks for it. The more they are brandished by the other side the more angelic it makes them look in a way, to their viewers ... IMO.. I corralate it to bible scriptures relating to believers being persecuted and laughed at by others, and their views mocked etc.. I think the undercurrent is INTENTIONAL
