Experts started digging again on Monday, saying they expected to find more bodies dating back 2,000 years to around the time of Christ

Cuts and slashes on the skeletons showed they had died violently, said Holst. But nothing was known for sure about the identity of the killers, or their victims.

That is one of the big mysteries

'We think it is a sacrifice related to warfare and probably the defeated soldiers were killed and thrown into the lake,' he said.

Always blows my mind to see such well preserved remains from our ancient past... where did that photo come from? I didn't see it in either of the two links... just looking for more visuals to go with the discovery.

Interesting find OP wonder who sent them out of the past 3d range and were they soldiers of CHRIST as well or just from his most recent known time line?

That photo is a bog body.
Use to be fascinated with them in elementary school.
