Taxation Without Representation!

In the 1750s Laws taxing the colonists (one of the types of laws that affects the majority of individuals directly), and other laws applying only to the colonies, were unconstitutional. The phrase was born, "No taxation without representation."

King Obama, says that this ObamaCare is, "Good for the American People." And, "The right thing to do!"

In a freak turn of events for American citizens we appear to be having a similar thing going on in this country. A law that has taxed the people, (this ObamaCare affects the majority of individuals directly), and other executive orders applying to citizens or even illegal citizens...

The Majority of Americans feel that ObamaCare is NO Good. No representation!!!!

I am not calling for a boston tea party. I am not calling for the rise of the fourth Reich, OWS 2.0, or Black Panther/KKK awakening. I am making a simple analogy about ObamaCare.

If we truly want a revolution we need this Constitutional Destroyer out!!!!!

I catch your drift, jjf, but, this is different....we HAVE representation....Congress and SCOTUS.....and we gave them the power to do what they did.....so.....they did it....I suggest we see how this shakes out....yes, it is too pro-drug companies...but, it is a helluva lot better than nothing...and that's what we have now.....so....revolution might come, to be sure, but not because of taxation without representation....

I never saw how representation was supposed to make taxation okay.

So what if some dynasty politician chosen by my idiot neighbors approves an expense or a tax?

I sure has hell didnt.

It's supposed to make me happy that theres an office somewhere that will respond to my complaints with form letters and talking-point tripe?

If anything representation just pisses me off more.

Our representatives were the ones who voted for this.

Even though it was sold as a mandate and a penalty instead of a tax.

It's more of a destruction of self-determination.

It is a theft of freedom under the guise of helping people.

I for one, will not, as in refuse to, pay this new tax. When it comes to taxes I've voted for, yep I pay those. Not this piece of unconstitutional crap...nope I won't....

Come on Beezer. You know that government is renowned for calling taxes by another name. Why does this come as a surprise if everything was set up to go through the IRS?

Yeah. Another fave is "Revenue".

Not a surprise here.

ALmost half of the people do not pay income taxes currently. When that percentage tips to 49% paying income taxes and the other 51% not, then those who pay into the system will be effectively disenfranchised because the majority will never vote to stop getting themselves the contents of their fellow citizen's bank accounts.

Here's a radical thought.

Maybe if the government were allowed to run its own business it wouldn't need to have so many taxes?

Sure...as long as they run it without taking my money.....something they apparently have no clue on how to manage.
