Ok, let's try to go through this slowly, because you are clearly confused.

Obama proposed to increase benefits for the Tri Care health care plan the Military uses.

However, that increases the cost of the plan, so to offset these cost Obama is asking for a slight fee increase.

So you can choose...do you want to give the Military crappy health care or do you want them to pay a small fee increase???

You can't have it both ways...because that would increase spending...and since he is trying to cut costs (see how that works)...that leaves us with those two options.

Pretty sure I'm not in the military anymore. I do have a few uniforms lying around but I'm not being called to go to war.

With that, I've got some insight into the health care the military uses. Unless you go to a civilian provider there is no fee for active duty or family members. If you go to a civilian provider and you specifically ask for a seperate plan from the free one you pay a fee. Newsflash, there's already a fee. If we want cuts to the government we deal with those cuts, Secretary Panetta already told congress that if they didn't enact the changes the president wanted he would be forced to cut into areas that nobody wanted. Congress refused and this is what we get.

Here's a link for you.

Once you follow the long chain of biased sources, you may find this only applies to military families and retires, not service members currently serving and is not entirely accurate, but rather another politically motivated post.

Under the new plan, the Pentagon would get the bulk of its savings by targeting under-65 and Medicare-eligible military retirees through a tiered increase in annual Tricare premiums that will be based on yearly retirement pay.

Have a nice day.

When veterans signed on the dotted line, they were promised free lifetime health and dental care. Now they are getting SCREWED BY POLITICIANS WHO DID NOT SERVE AND WHO WILL GET LIFETIME BENEFITS AFTER ONLY ONE TERM IN OFFICE.

Now the retirees will have to pay their RETIREMENT pay for the medical benefits they were promised. My dad served thirty years and most of his generation did the same. THEY PERFORMED REAL SERVICE, NOT SITTING ON SOME GOLDEN THRONE AT THE WHITE HOUSE

Politicians should not get benefits. They do not serve Americans. They serve themselves the very best the taxpayers have to give.

The real joke is if the retired veteran has ANY service connected disability(10% for hearing loss or Tinnitus is common) he can go to the VA and use his Tri-care there and no copay.

When i was in the military there was no tri-care and we were told that we would be taken care of free after 20 years
