Obamacare! Please explain in layman terms.

As a foreigner I'm also interested to learn more about your new system.
(pretty much all I know is from an issues paper that only compared Obamacare to the german system)

Let me guess......A huge swat team with full armor and guns blazing, flash bang grenades, helicoptor, APC's and a complete overreaction by the fed's? Seems to fit their trend.
