John Simpson BBC correspondent promotes euthanasia on the BBC

John Simpson the BBC Correspondent has promoted euthanasia when the time is right for him. He is 67 years old and his son is 6 years old. Simpson is stockpiling lethal drugs for the possibility.

The BBC was criticised recently by Terry Pratchett who accused the BBC of promoting assisted suicide after it televised a patient with motor neurone disease taking a lethal dose of barbiturates.

There are a few points:

Should Simpson stockpile lethal drugs around a 6 year old?

What will his son think of this article if he read it?

What about the failure rate of home-made lethal cocktails resulting in coma and long-term hospitalisation?

What about unsrupulous family members or health professionals taking advantage and murdering the patient for selfish reasons?



Is the BBC popularising euthanasia without thinking it through or is this a well-thought through policy developing?

One of the parts of the BBC is to produce challenging programmes so while its a dark and not talked about much subject it deserves to be aired to perhaps stop some people taking their lives without reason since they can see theres a light at the end of the tunnel and at the same time help those who are almost beyond suffering a dignified end rather than just spending years on a morphine drip etc
