I guess the real problem is what are the four of us going to do about it?
I find myself becoming more cynical every day and the one's they are targeting will no doubt eat it up and chase it with some kool-aid.
These are the kinda threads that make it hard to contribute to because, really, how can you defend this?

Im all for retirees or the disabled on a fixed income being properly nourished an all, but to actually go so far as to imply that starving is why a woman looks so "fit" is just deplorable.

For cryin out loud. If one qualifies for food stamp assistance and doesn't want it, are they supposed to be swayed into the program because they want to "look fit"?

That's the 2nd dumbest thing I have ever heard. The first was the Bloomberg thread concerning the window unit in his SUV.

I support the food stamp program.
I have my rathers about what I'd RATHER see happen in America, but it ain't happening.
I don't think it is because of foods stamps though.

Ok - I actually HEARD this commercial about a month ago it seems? And it aired while a Republican radio show was on.

I was like - what? Who made THAT stupid commercial???

I figure the govt did, to try to help maybe? make republicans feel better about food stamps?

It's really a stupid, ineffective commercial.

Eating right and staying active are great ways to stay healthy.

If an elderly person can't afford to eat well, then food stamps would absolutely help them maintain good health.



I don't really see the source of the outrage here...

Do you people believe the elderly should be starving or unable to afford nutritional food?
