I've heard alot that if an advanced species came to Earth it would be for resources. But that would make them not much more advanced than us.

If they are intelligent enough to get here, they would have to be a compassionate race that didn't destroy their own planet through greed.

They'd come with advanced philosophies, morals and ways of thinking we cant even perceive yet. Why would they be in any form archaic?

Where are you hearing this from? What resources does earth have that are not abundant in space? The only one I can think of off hand is human beings, but even that is conjecture. All of the other "resources" you speak of were made in supernovae, just as our were. Even water seems to be abundant. Frankly -- the only place I have even seen the theory that aliens might come to earth for our resources over the past decade have been from bad science fiction.

Stephen Hawking thought so abcnews.go.com...-oFqrXO7mQ

And I obviously don't know which resources aliens could find important, hemp probably.

I have heard one theory that chlorophyll is pretty rare and aliens might want to come to earth for that. Not saying i believe that, just throwing another theory out there.

I think if ETs came to earth they would come as scientists just observing and studying.

You assume that ET's would be human like. Imagine a animal on earth evolving to a intelligent form. Lets say a alligator race, do you think they would hold the same emotions and same mind set as us? No they are wired competently different.

And whos to say that ETs worked to get hear? Maybe they wear handed the technology, maybe they stumbled across something. The universe is a strange place maybe they wear born with the ability to instantly travel. Maybe they are beings witch live in space and not a planet. Who knows... The universe is massive, mega huge, gigantic beyond our comprehension. Not every intelligent race is going to be the same. Just as each human has its own personalty and characteristics.

Maybe these ETS are not even from our frequency spectrum. The human body can only sense so much their are allot of frequency bands we cannot sense. We maybe be able to see red green blue yellow, but their are infinite amount of other colors we cannot see. Same with noise, felling, tasting and smelling. Et's probably exist with in the frequency spectrum we cannot sense. Imagine a ET with a large visibility to these frequency's, they would be able to sense us with their body's but we would not be able to sense them because their bodys are of a density we cannot pick up on our frequency spectrum of senses.

It is 100% speculation. There are no definitive answers.

We have absolutely no proof of other intelligent life-forms out there in the vastness of space, so if they do exist, and somehow managed to find us, and successfully travel to our planet, how could any of us possibly know what their intent would be?

About the animal part. Ok lets say Aligators evolved to an intelligent life form. That would probably mean Art, music, maths, and understanding of themselves. While I don't think they'd all be naturally kind, or good at art, if they got as far as being what we'd describe as an intelligent race they'd have both gators that loved us and racists. etc

And the rest of what you said, well yeah, theres an infinite amount of possibilities. But i'd think the mostly likely reason effort like that to come to a planet inhabited with gorgeous life would be if they looked all around to help life grow in the universe. We havent found life progressed this far, and imagine we found a planet mainly infested with cute bunny-like people, they lived in little burrows and wore little hats but with only a small understanding of maths and stuff, now if we were able to wouldn't we love to share our vast knowledge to this race so they dont make mistakes like ours and kill each other and everything else on their planet?
