IMHO, the two best shows on TV now are:
Person of Interest, CBS and
Burn Notice on USA

Remember, No News is Good News.

I loved in the past USA's Nightflight and the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. The Roasts made me laugh until I cried.

Peep Show, BBC

Top Gear, BBC

The history channel, NatGeo and discovery channel have all gone to hell, by way of this stupid ass reality show craze.

I like a lot of what is on AMC- Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, FX's Sons of Anarchy. I pretty much never watch anything on Network TV anymore, considering the highest rating show is freaking American Idol

My favorite channel used to be Sci-Fi (SyFy now) but its pretty much gone to hell now, with the exception of Eureka and sometimes Warehouse 13. (sigh)

As mentioned Continuum is a refreshing new series that tickles the cerebrum. Through the Wormhole does not disappoint. The Newsroom looked good in it's intro, well written, casted and relevant to today's punditry madness. The first 5 minutes blew me away in it's frankness. Realize too though, that after is critiquing the US, he goes on to describe it's greatness too.
Summertime is usually the weakest season for good shows, because we should be outside enjoying the sunshine.

The Newsroom

ETA: For the site linked, if you do not have Divx player, the Putlocker option is decent.

Big Bang theory is so corny, I don't know how anyone can stand to watch that.

What do you guys think of Game of Thrones? Never seen it yet but have heard some good reviews.

Game of Thrones is actually quite good. It has some gore, some language, and some sex...but what medieval fantasy show doesn't? Oh, and it has dragons...sorry if that's a spoiler...

Another show that I like that I just thought of...Justified...which also reminds me of The Shield.

Because, stupid people have been pandered to so much that they've been elevated in todays' society. They have way too much sway in the public forum nowadays. As annoying as it is, it's not their fault. Unfortunately, they still need to be pandered to with "TV" they can get.

The ones who bought up all the textbook manufacturing companies are to blame. They brought laws into place that would make it a crime not to attend their "Compulsory Schools". It's the fault of these people for having an agenda that involves a dumber populace.

Obviously I am preaching to the choir, here, though

Yes, you are correct.

I remember years ago, after watching the Newhart Show, I related something to some coworkers about the episode. They didn't watch the show because it 'is stupid', 'not funny'. Translation: The humor was too subtle and they didn't get it.

I know what you mean, but in this case, I knew my coworkers well enough to understand that they didn't get the jokes.
