Carter is just jealous. Until Obama came along, Jimmy held the title for worst president ever. Now the title goes to Obama and Carter doesn't want to give up the crown.

Obama has done more damage to the left than any conservative could even dream of.

Truthfully, most of us are closer ideologically than we imagine.

And Obama isn't even within the range of the majority of Americans, left or right.

I think having Obama for President is like having Terrell Owens on your football team. Well except TO catches passes. Point is. You went and got him and you still like your team but you know the guy is an idiot and he is bringing the whole team down with him so you have to unload him at some point and start with someone new. And it is going to take a lot for the super fans to finally see that he was a bad guy to sign and that he doesnt need a contract extension..

To late, damage is done.

Amazing how everything predicted is coming to pass.

If he is reelected,

Unfortunately I was alive when Jimmy was Prez. He was made fun of constantly.. like Tardis said abt the rhymes... but the jokes seemed to have a ring of truth and the cartoons about carter were only one shade away from brutal!
You cant criticize Obama like that for whatever reason. Times have changed.. certainly. My question always is when I see stories about something Carter said was.. who cares and WHY would any journalist bother with the guy since he is irrelevant... unless its because they know they can get a polarizing or moronic quote out of the guy. I pass stories like this by usually.. they are completely useless for anything other than gossip and for Gods sake.. who cares what peanut boy has to say? He isnt the spokesman for the left even though he tries so hard to be

The only people who ARE relevant and who ARE "dissin'" Obama that is interesting.. or more than interesting are the Clintons... well Hill is anyway.

You can't criticize Obama without being called a racist. That's a big portion why you are not seeing Obama critiques. Obama backers will call you racist!!!!

Jimmy Carter was a tool of the Tri-lateral commission. He was put forward as a Presidential Candidate by David Rockefeller and Brzezinski because he was an advocate of Human Rights. Brzezinski’s and the Tri-lateral Commission’s support for Jimmy Carter’s 1974 Presidential campaign, was based on Carter’s courage on human rights issues and his interest in the development of trade relations between Japan and Georgia and the Common Market. Human rights were a seen as a serious issue and one that could reunite the Democratic Party factions, which had been split for a decade by the Vietnam War. Human rights in the Soviet Union also presented opportunities to dispute Nixon’s policies of détente and Kissinger’s realpolitik.

Why would you take the time to make such a vapid and crude comment in the political forum? What point were you trying to make?

Does it offend you that another ex-Democrat President is dissin' Obama?

THis is the beginning of barry under the bus.

It does not only offend Hamrheed, it irritated and agitated him as well.

Nice touch.

To be fair Carter has criticized every President since him. I don't get why people say his opinion doesn't matter though. In fact he's probably one of the few people whose opinion does matter as he is one of five people currently alive to have held the title of President. I also don't get the hate for him on here. He's arguably one of the smartest men to have been President but he got dealt a bad hand. I also think he is one of the few politicians that would agree with a lot of what ATS has to say about the state of the Union. Just check out his Law Day speech. He gave that back when he was a governor but it is just as relevant today.

Most liberals are dissapointed with the president --- because he has not been able to be liberal enough. Do you think that is going to make liberals vote for the fascists -- I don't think so.

If you think Obama is a pushover President, believe it or not, Carter was much worse.
Because of his actions and inactions, Jimmy can be considered the catalyst that eventually led to modern day Islamic terrorism.
Yep, his main buddy at that time was Arafat and the rest is now history.

Carter was the President at the time, but really the catalyst was Brzezinski. Brzezinski had the idea that by funding the Holy Warriors in Afghanistan, it would give the Soviet Union their own 'Vietnam and as a result, the Carter Administration began funding them.
