Seriously in the US you need to split the country up into parts - you have to give the liberal white elites and all the minorities their own country.

Oh boy, and let all the right-wing white 'Christchuns' populate their own little kingdom? You're just trying to give Bill new material to work with, right?

forget racism, the real issue is how does bill maher have a show, who actually thinks he's funny, who is responsible for loosing this smug little democratic version of a shock jock on the public?everything that comes out of his blowhole is political propaganda.we already have an abundance of snide bottom feeders spouting there political opinion as fact.and of course he is racist,he's rich. saying i'm not a fan would be a massive understatement

Maher is the worst kind of American liberal, typical working class hating liberal hypocrite. Opposes socialism, hates the working class, supports israel etc

he highlights the supposed "american left" for the shambolic, garbage nonsense that it is

Fine. If Bill Maher is "just a comedian" doing comedy, then I won't take anything he does or says seriously. If he runs for congress ...I'll just laugh at him.

His show is political, not satire, but his true opinions. He makes jokes in between his opinions to lighten the mood, it's a deceitful tactic. He's manipulative. He gets away with saying what he says under the guise of "It's just comedy"

The dude is a total tool.

Now I don't agree with him 100%, but there's no reason I ought to. I think he is intelligent, stingingly funny, profane and yes, opinionated. He will slag Obama for his screw ups but has the balls to hand him a cool million for his campaign...not too many other pundits putting their money where their mouths are. He has no fear of putting right wingers and libertarians on his panel...in fact he calls himself a Libertarian. Not like others who require dittoheads and a chorus of trained seals.

A racist? You ever see who he dates? He calls the Church a joke, supports legal pot and gay rights. What's not to like?

My son says, "Dad, he's an arse."
"Indeed", I respond, "but he's our arse."

Really though, like Bill Maher is some kind of guy who has any sort of weight?!

He's a comedian, who runs an entertainment program on HBO.

Stop getting all your panties in a twist over what celebrities say, they are inconsequential.

The problem with America is that you care too much about what celebrities say, and not enough about what your politicians say.

Case in point.

But we need to look closer at Maher.

He is in fact financially active in the Obama Campaign.

When he first "announced" his $1 million donation, many people thought it was part of the "act".

Apparently the $1 million was real.

Comedian Bill Maher defended his $1 million contribution to the pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action, warning other liberals not to take the 2012 campaign for granted.

"When it comes to election night, it's going to be neck in neck," Maher said on MSNBC's "Hardball" on Monday. "One reason is because of this issue of money. Obama had a giant money advantage last time Now Sheldon Adelson talks about giving $100 million," Maher said about the casino magnate who has bankrolled Newt Gingrich's super PAC.

"The game has changed from small contributions to large contributions. In the millions. The many millions. He's going to have, I think a tremendous financial disadvantage," Maher said about Obama.

Eh, I don't think this is a big deal and he is just being sarcastic here.

Bill is a smart guy and I really think his show is funny, but I have to say I think his political stance is outrageous.

I watch his show regularly, and almost every episode he will have Democrat and Republican guest. At some point during every show he will say to the Republican guest that will be complaining about Obama and say something like this "Your living in a bubble! Obama has been just a militant as Bush or Cheney ever was, so why do you hate him!"

Of course hes right. Ive even heard Bill specifically mention expanding the war in Afghanistan, involvement in Libya, extension of the Patriot Act, and the killing of American citizens with drones. So hes right to question just what hes doing foreign policy wise that is different than what cheney would have done.

My point is, why does even never then say, "Oh yeah, those were all things I hated under Bush, so why do I like the man". Obama is Bush 2.0, a warmonger, probably even worse. So why does Bill Like him?

Either he only cares about his "team" winning and doesnt care about the issues, or hes delusional. Either way, although I find him funny, I give hime zero credibility on political issues.

I think he's more concerned about about a Republican victory...though he'd have a constant feed of new material.

Who cares who he donated money to?

he has a right, as an American, to donate money to political campaigns, are we going to crap on him for enjoying his rights as a citizen?

Sure he has an agenda, to help Obama get elected, but what celebrity who cares about things doesn't? He truly believes the things he says then good for him, let him support Obama, let him give millions of dollars and let him run his show any way he damn pleases.

It still doesn't make his opinion any more valid that that of Bill, shawn hannity or Rush Limbaugh.
