Unusually large asteroid to race by Earth today.

Is this unusually large though? What is the average size of an asteroid ? Is there an average size?
A quick google shows that they can be the size of a small planet. ( ceres is classified as a dwarf planet but is an asteroid ) That is significantly larger than this one.
