Bottom line, it's usually a bad career move to disagree vocally with one's fanbase... Maybe the concerts are going ok, but last I heard, their album sales dropped considerably, despite having a hit single out, mostly due to radio stations boycotting them...

People like that are taking a big risk in pronouncing their political beliefs. Either way, they are going to lose some sales and their popularity will drop. The 'stars' should watch what they say.(if they want more sales)

Charts.(Just Like Michael Moore's book went BACK to #1 on the NYTimes bestsellers list & has been selling like hot cakes since his Bush slam at the Oscars,not to mention the fact that Mel Gibson's production co.has signed him to do his new film + his publisher signed him to a 3 book deal,all AFTER his Bush slam)Tim Robbins is being Honnored at UCLA this May & alot of people have spoken out against Robbins & Sarandon's not being allowed to the baseball hall of fame(which the Jerk who cancelled has appologized for)Clint Eastwood & Kevin Costner both defended Robbins & Sarandon.

So, speaking out is not all that bad for one's careers as we thought.Just read what the Boss said about the Dixie Chicks!

They're just lucky the war ended so quick....that's likely the reason for the turn around... You know how short our American attention spans are...

The Boss is one of my absolute favorites! I've seen him everytime he's come to Cleveland. Twice he's performed 2 nights in a row - which I saw him both times. The best live performer, ever. I just wish he'd stick to music

It's unfortunate that these celebs use their fame as their pulpit. Not that they shouldn't be allowed, free speech and all. But, they pick the 'cause of the day' then all of sudden they are 'activists' when in the end their opinion counts as much as yours or mine.
Tomorrow they'll have a new cause and forget all about Iraq. Nor do you see them talking about other problems in the world - it's just, typically, the issue/charity, etc. of the day. Most aren't a Jerry Lewis - looks how he uses his fame with the MDA.

Odd, maybe people are starting to side with the celebs in their political beliefs.

Point is, They were already at #1 back in the fall.They shot BACK UP to #1 just this week.Their sales have jumped BACK UP. Their attacking their critics BIG TIME & They're on this weeks cover of Entertainment Weekly NAKED.Etertainment Weekly editors predict this will be a big selling issue + its gonna draw even MORE attention to the Chix!

Naked? No wonder their sales went up. Sheesh, I thought people were starting to side with them, and they just want to see them naked.

And people wonder why they call us Americans stupid. Most of the population are sheep.

They went #1 LAST WEEK. The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly doesn't hit news stands til tomorrow. Besides, Sex does sell. I agree with what you said.People do call us Americans stupid.
