New Bill Allows All UK Phone And Internet Activity to be Recorded

Co alition battle brewing as email monitoring powers to be unveiled this week

Powers to allow the police and security services to monitor every email, phone call and website visit will be unveiled this week intensifying Coalition tensions.

Theresa May is expected to publish the controversial Communications Data Bill on Friday which will require service providers to record all internet and phone activity.

The proposals will allow police and intelligence officers to monitor who someone is in contact with and the websites they visit, although the content of communications will not be accessed.

Conservative are prepared for an intense backlash from both Tory and Liberal Democrat MPs who fear the proposals are a “snooper’s charter” and too great an intrusion on private lives.

In April Nick Clegg, the deputy prime minister, appeared to cast the plans further in to chaos when he insisted they would not just be “rammed” in to law.

The Home Office will take the unusual step of allowing the Bill to be scrutinised by a special parliamentary committee, which will take evidence from campaign groups and interested parties, before it passes through Parliament.

Brought to you by the government who has the most CCTV camera's in the world! So now they want to push this law through and RECORD all your phone ane Internet activity. Now, most will say that this is likely happening already, BUT not its going to be official. So, all these websites (ATS included) will be monitored even more and there will be a record of your activities, along with recorded phone calls of conversations to be used against you later.
Complete invasion of privacy, I can;t believe UK-ers are going to stand for this! Then again, its been a long time coming and im sure its much the same as North America, the sheep are out in droves buying into all the propagand that is spewed from these corrupt governments!

Thoughts!

Just curious, is there anything that the government can not do?

I swear, they seem to be getting carried away.

Rather than people being paranoid, they are the ones starting to look paranoid.

What what?
The Con-Dems who voted against Labour's surveillance bill have decided to attempt to pass an even more Orwellian bill themselves, mere years later?

Why am I not surprised...
I would refer to the lot of them as snakes-but that would be an insult to our legless reptile cousins IMO.

I do wonder how much of this is of there own want though-and how much is pressure from foreign and corporate powers..

we'll see how easy/hard this walks through the commons and the lords before ascent into law. that is, about 5 weeks to the summer recess of a bit more than two months long. it will be interesting if the white paper/bill gets through the required readings fast-tracked stiley.
