Chris Rock: 'We Ignore the President's Whiteness, But It's There'

I consider this a Political Issue for the sole reason, That if a supposedly White person make a derogatory comment about Obama, the Race card is Pulled Out and Played.

I truly believe that their are Blacks in America that are far more Racist than White Americans.
I mean here is an example and the person making this comment is listen to by many people of all races and you pay money sometimes for his performance.

Rock decided he'd stick with "Marty the Zebra", joking that it was "in honor of our zebra president, black and white, white and black." Rock added "I love our president, you know, but he's black and white, he appeals to all," Rock said. "That's what I'm going for….We ignore the President’s whiteness, but it’s there, it’s there,” Rock smiled and said.

OK, Do any of you believe he would say something like this if he did not think it?
Also who are the people he's speaking about here?

Really what difference does it make if he's Black or White, I believe it makes a bigger difference to most of the Black Race That he has some White in him, I mean, Why mention it if it didn't matter.

But then again, if a White entertainer had said this, he or she would be chased down and their life threatened for being Racist.
What I'm seeing here is the Hypocrisy and Bigotry of some Rich Black Entertainer who has the attention of many of our young.
He should just comment on what he likes about Obama and leave the Black and White Comments at home with his Friends or who ever WE are.

Its a double standard, partly, or even mostly, enforced by whites, against whites, which has negatively affected blacks in the process, as IMO I feel, and have even been told indirectly, that it feels as if they are being patronized and babied, which no one likes.

In my personal experiences, it has always been blacks who have been MUCH more open and willing to talk about race, in all regards, than whites. Again in my personal experiences, Ive been able to have open and frank discussions with blacks about race (any race), say 80% of the time (just what I sense is about right), but with whites, well... its rare.

Honestly I dont see this as racism or bigotry. I dont see mentioning someones race as bigoted. Its a fact. It hasnt been until fairly recently in history that the PC police and double standard brigade have tried to shut down all mention and discussion of race, branding anyone who mentions it a thought criminal who needs to be shunned, or even throw into prison for "hate crimes".

The solution to all the race PC BS, is to remove the double standards entirely (obviously easier said than done). People are DIFFERENT. Humans are NOT all the same; just like horses and dogs are NOT all the same. Same species, yes. However under that category of "species", there are many different variations. Talk about them. Joke about them. Get over your misguided sense of superiority, shrink your inflated ego a bit, and learn to laugh at yourself (Not directed at OP; statement is to people in general.)

who cares he has the right to say whatever he wants. And so does a white man... You could go around saying stupid jokes like these if you want just make sure you arent in an area you would get attacked by overly sensitive black people.

The point of the op is the double standard.

Rock should have never made the comment and every argument that has been on this site about the current potus the race card is always thrown out.

They ignore racism when it comes from the left but anyone else it's "Oh hell no you don't".

Race has never been an issue for me and many others in any criticism of the Potus.

Actually it will never be one race, the human race until the Aliens attack. We are pack driven. We form packs all the time, it is what we are and who we are. We ignore 4 million who die in Darfur, but we care about one black kid in Florida that we add to our pack. Its they way our brains focus and think.

Our pack starts out as family then friends then associations. When needed we progress the size of our pack where it fits as in race...citizenship. and finally when the aliens come we will be just a human race.

As example, A black kid and a Spanish kid in east LA would kill each other unless they were in Iraq together and then they would be American blood brothers killing the terrorist, willing to die for each other, but then the terrorist would be right next to the American fighting side by side when the Aliens attack.

Kind of funny isn't it?

Voting for someone, endorsing someone based on the melanin content of their skin is wrong regardles of colour.

Funny how it's the left that always brings it up, yet when the right points it out, they are the ones considered racist!

When they can't run on principle, policy, or facts, they'll use this tired old card.

I would not phrase it exactly like that but yeah it's true, Obama is half black. But i wouldn't say the comment was racist, just untrue. Here is the full racist truth 'We ignore the president's JEWISHNESS, but it's there' I mean right? His mother was Jewish.

Mr. Obama likes to ignore HIS OWN whiteness. Why? I don't know. Seems to me like he could have used that to his advantage when trying to reach out to more people. Race is always a touchy subject and even more so in the last few years. People are tired of the race card being thrown down every 10 seconds, others feel like they are getting the shaft because of their race. I suppose it's in the eye of the beholder?

Be ok with you as long as you know you don't have an issue. That's all you can do.
