What happened to the ability to remove a flag?

Okay, not exactly the most important topic, but I greatly appreciated the ability to "unflag" a thread after someone had pointed out an obvious flaw or lack of research.

This seemed to have disappeared from my abilities.

I flagged a thread out of zest as I found the topic very compelling only to get down to the 4th post where it was completely debunked by a minimal amount of research that the OP failed to do.

I WANT MY FLAG BACK! It's undeserved. The OP could have found this information quickly if proper research was done.

Is it just me, or does anyone else seem to be experiencing the same issue?

Did I miss a board announcement? I searched but didn't find anything.

It must be a problem on your end, because I just tested it out on this topic. Unless there is a time limit on removing a flag, as I just flagged and un-flagged this immediately after.

still works for me. But maybe I'm just special.

might be browser related, try a different browser and see if that helps.
I'm on firefox btw

Weird. I tried on a couple test threads too.

I'll email one of the site admins and request a look-see.

Thanks for the reply.

That is a good point, what browser are you currently using?

I am on Chrome and it is fine, and this poster is on Firefox. Are you on another browser by chance, such as Opera, or the dreaded Internet Explorer?

I would also like the ability to take my stars back. I doesn't happen often, but sometimes I star long posts when the first few paragraphs are strongly agreeable only to get to the bottom line after the fact and they say something I just cannot back. I know it's my bad for getting to excited and not reading the bottom line, but I still really want the ability. Sometimes it's a totally ligit scenario where my finger is trigger happy and I happen to click a star completely unintentionally (amongst other thing on my computer) That is really really rare, but it has happened more than once to me.
I usually stand by stars and flags I give, if it's not too far against what I agree with but on occasion I would like to retract these things when I change my mind (or OP comes out with ulterior motive for stirring the pot in the thread later on)

It's not browser specific. I failed to mention that.

I'm using FF 12 and IE 7 and am unable to take a flag back. Seems so strange.

After a period of time the button turns black.

But right after you flag them you should be able to remove it, button turns red.

I think they revoke your flag privileges if you flag really stupid threads.

I did give you a flag though.

Oh no, my unflag does not work now after flagging your thread.

uh oh...

I tried within about 2 or 3 minutes of flagging the thread.

Strange now you're experiencing the same thing?

I received a reply from Masqua that he's looking into it.

I'll let you guys know if I hear anything back.
