At 6:45 PM, June 3, 2012 a 5.3 earthquake struck 21 km southwest of PUERTO LA PLAYA in Golfito, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. No damage has been reported as yet. The Costa Rica News (TCRN) will update this report as soon as further information is available.

Approximately the same time as the Costa Rica seismology report, it was reported reported a 6.2-magnitude earthquake striking off the southern coast of Panama, 215 miles south of David, Panama, and almost 330 miles southwest of the Panama City.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center advised there was no threat of a tsunami. (Source: CNN)
