Organizations urge Boehner not to vote contempt against AG

Well this is just sickening. 14 civil rights, labor, and liberal activist groups with ties to the Obama administration want to help the Attorney General, Eric Holder get out of being charged with contempt of congress charges in the Fast and Furious case. They sent Speaker of the House John Boehner a letter arguing that charging Holder with contempt:

"seems to be a rush to judgment intended to create a stain on the office of the attorney general."

and:

The organizations said Holder has already turned over the disputed documents to the inspector general for his ongoing investigation into the flawed gun-smuggling operation. "They reportedly include law enforcement information, grand jury transcripts, and other information that would compromise ongoing investigations and prosecutions,"

Apparently they don't know the difference between some and all. Not to mention much of the information given has been heavily redacted.

According to the draft order for contempt of Congress, Holder has not turned over the appropriate paperwork requested in October for congressional review. The paperwork for Fast and Furious falls into 22 separate categories, but Holder's office has only turned over paperwork for 12 of the categories. Six months is a very long time for the White House to hold information from Congress and should be questioned.

Politics are usual. Mighty nice that all these civil rights, labor, and liberal activist groups that support Obama can pull together supporting Holder's obstruction of justice. Gives you a warm feeling, doesn't it?

I love the fact that Im not that blind. I have a deep down sadness for these people.

"we dont have to-we are special" doesnt hold water.

Boehner is a RINO. They (organizations) know how to handle the RINO's, the problem is the freshman voted into congress in '10.
If Boehner caves, he knows its the end for him, ...probably is already.

Now that's just silly! How can Holder defend voter fraud if he's in jail?

Seems to me they forgot all about their attack on AG Ashcroft, now they expect us to give Holder a pass.

Exactly what do you mean by this?

Holder wasn't the attorney general during the botched Waco raid. And, that wouldn't be genocide, that would be a massacre. Please, a dictionary can be your friend.

Janet Reno was the acting Attorney General during the time the events at Waco transpired. That's who would be responsible. Why place blame on him for something that happened before he took the office?

But back to the point at hand.

If Holder indeed is in contempt of congress. Then he should be held accountable for it, pay his $1000.00 fine, spend his year in jail, and that's that.

What's wrong sad_eyed_lady? Didja think that contempt of congress came with a death sentence? I just wanted to put that out there so that if he is found guilty and given the maximum punishment you wouldn't think that he was given special treatment. The above is the maximum allowed fine and jail time allowed by that law. Sorry, he won't be executed for his transgression, he won't be flogged, he won't be disemboweled, no hangings. Just a thousand dollar fine, and a year in jail.

I just want to make sure that you guys aren't too disappointed if they lay down the law on Holder. There won't be any biblical retribution coming if he is found guilty. It's just a thousand dollar fine, and a year in jail. You won't be able to see them tie him to a stake and burn him. No firing squad, no electric chair.

But, take heart, if he is found guilty, he will be fired from his job. So you will have that victory.
