FORMER Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak may have suffered a heart attack on his way to a prison hospital after being sentenced to life in prison for conspiring to kill hundreds of protesters.
Mubarak, 84, was found guilty after a nine-month trial in Cairo during which he was wheeled into court on a stretcher.

I notice how they wrote "may have suffered" seemingly saying that there is a distinct possibility this man suffered nothing yet the fear of his fate in the gallows. With his upcoming appeal, in my opinion himself and his legal team must be shaken by the outcome and are clutching at straws to extend their time while they potentially find a loophole for his court case.

More than 850 protesters killed while he stood by. I think he's pushing the feces up hill don't you think?

I don't know, didn't the six main guys from the military dodge the bullet altogether? I think Mubarak is just a distraction - and a poorly contrived one from the real problems that country is facing. Mubarak, due to his age and "health condition" will probably be given a cushy cell suitable for a dictator (if he even does time...I personally think he'll pull a Lindsay Lohan).

The real authority is still in power via the military. Not surprised people are ritoing.

You think the military wouldnt be called ASAP and do you think that they wouldnt fire on them?

they HAVE to protect the president from mob mentality.....afterall what is an army without a president/minister....a militia innit.....but americans wouldnt put up with what the egyptians had to......i dont think the authorties and democracy would ever get us as desperate as these lot were.....

corruption charges against Mubarak's two sons were dropped. There were violent clashes inside the courtroom after the verdicts were announced, with at least one person seen bleeding from the neck. 'suffered a heart attack' is a common phrase to describe someone who had a heart attack. "May" is used because it has not been confirmed.

EXACTLY. Mubarak was just a figurehead. Nothing changed in egypt except the removal of figurehead. The military remains in charge, as they have for decades.

Sorry I notice little things like the convenience of "maybe having a heart attack" under the circumstances. Yes, it's also perfectly logical to think that he DID in fact suffer from a heart attack, due to stress from court cases etc..

anyone that knows mubarak will tell you the guy DOES look ill......and any human will tell you that he is suffering from depression...at his age...its life threatening...

either way...people are remembering the dead on 25 january....which i blame his cronies for....but are forgetting the 30 years worth of prosperity under him.....
