Mubarak avoids the gallows for slaying protesters

www.news.com.au

FORMER Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak may have suffered a heart attack on his way to a prison hospital after being sentenced to life in prison for conspiring to kill hundreds of protesters.
Mubarak, 84, was found guilty after a nine-month trial in Cairo during which he was wheeled into court on a stretcher.

I notice how they wrote "may have suffered" seemingly saying that there is a distinct possibility this man suffered nothing yet the fear of his fate in the gallows. With his upcoming appeal, in my opinion himself and his legal team must be shaken by the outcome and are clutching at straws to extend their time while they potentially find a loophole for his court case.

More than 850 protesters killed while he stood by. I think he's pushing the feces up hill don't you think?

I don't know, didn't the six main guys from the military dodge the bullet altogether? I think Mubarak is just a distraction - and a poorly contrived one from the real problems that country is facing. Mubarak, due to his age and "health condition" will probably be given a cushy cell suitable for a dictator (if he even does time...I personally think he'll pull a Lindsay Lohan).

The real authority is still in power via the military. Not surprised people are ritoing.

how can they put him in prison but the six cheifs and his two sons are not guilty???

id prefer it if they sent his sons and the six dudes to jail and left the president.

he wasnt a dictator....but, there is some mafia nonsense going on.

his sons selling a bank....??? and now theyr not getting the money for it lolololol....twats

same as most of the business they done with foreigners.....they take the profit with zero investment...??

i hope the rothchilds or whoever set these mugs up.....line up mubaraks son and gadafis son....and let the people have em.....even if they snitch people will ignore them....

funny ass situation...these six think they can leave the country now...no...the states lawyers have appealed against the not guilty verdict...

you know that they were more reponsible for the internal situation than mubarak...he should have ruled with an iron fist....

so how many banks, in how many arab countries have been "brought" without anyone actually getting paid for it.
haha...mubaraks family think they can go to london whenever and collect theyr cash...haaaaaa
i got to laugh at the naivety...

And what do you think would happen if "protesters" that were armed like these guys were, stormed the gates of the whitehouse and Obama was inside?
You think the military wouldnt be called ASAP and do you think that they wouldnt fire on them?

I must have missed something.

Quotes from article.

Rifaat described Mubarak's era as "30 years of darkness" and "a darkened nightmare" that ended only when Egyptians rose up to demand change. "They peacefully demanded democracy from rulers who held tight grip on power," the judge said.

...were met by a deadly crackdown of security forces on unarmed demonstrators.

Unless you're talking about this?

corruption charges against Mubarak's two sons were dropped. There were violent clashes inside the courtroom after the verdicts were announced, with at least one person seen bleeding from the neck. Riot police were on standby outside the court building over fears of further protests if Mubarak and the other defendants were cleared or received lenient sentences.

Which has nothing to do with that I was talking about.

'suffered a heart attack' is a common phrase to describe someone who had a heart attack. "May" is used because it has not been confirmed.

New to the English language?

EXACTLY. Mubarak was just a figurehead. Nothing changed in egypt except the removal of figurehead. The military remains in charge, as they have for decades.

Sorry I notice little things like the convenience of "maybe having a heart attack" under the circumstances. Yes, it's also perfectly logical to think that he DID in fact suffer from a heart attack, due to stress from court cases etc..

Clearly you're offended that I may have hinted as a possible conspiracy there, on a conspiracy forum.

Offended? At what?

No, I was merely pointing you that 'suffered a heart attack' is common terminology, something you seemed unaware of.

anyone that knows mubarak will tell you the guy DOES look ill......and any human will tell you that he is suffering from depression...at his age...its life threatening...

either way...people are remembering the dead on 25 january....which i blame his cronies for....but are forgetting the 30 years worth of prosperity under him.....

god bless the dead....
