As I mentioned, there are earlier examples, but none stating "this is an alien", just inferred...

The witnesses of Roswell described them first, so I guess technically this would be the earliest confirmed reference to them (in '47)...

I believe the pictograph from Coast to Coast was identified as Ute Indian, but don't hold me to it. I used to have some great photos from Nine-Mile Canyon in the Price area of the pictographs - one of them looked like a representation of the Solar System. Beautiful stuff but so much had been vandalized. Coast to Coast had a link to the Sego Canyon Rock Art Site it has various tribal murals. You might find what you're looking for there.
