Report: Iran using passenger jets to smuggle weapons to Syria, Lebanon

Iran’s government has repeatedly used commercial aircraft to smuggle weapons and explosives to Syria and Lebanon, the German broadcaster ZDF reported Wednesday.

ZDF, citing Western security sources and unspecified information it said it had obtained, reported that Iran Air and Yas Air, both based in Iran, have repeatedly used aircraft designated as passenger planes to transport weapons to Damascus and Beirut. It was not clear from the report what type of weaponry was involved.

openchannel.msnbc.msn.com...

So Iran has been smuggling weapons to Syria and Lebanon and it doesn't take much to figure out they have been doing this a long time of course this has been only one means of supplying weapons to various "terrorist" organizations for decades.

Thought Iran was all bout peace? No never mind let's help by sending arms to defeat all those evil "zionist's".

Having a background in air cargo and passenger jet's i can tell you that you can get a lot of weapons on them mostly small arms, machine guns, grenades, rocket launchers and it doesn't really matter as long as the hull is pressurized, and then you can send the larger stuff by ship.

Iran the angel of :

Mercy?
Death?

Careful mercy doesn't send weapons and there is Iran sitting there condemning others and doing the same things what a bunch of hypocrites.

The US provides multiple countries around Iran with weapons every year. Israel alone gets ridiculous money and weapons from the US. The US also doesn't have to smuggle these weapons in; they're pretty open and smug about their dealings so my question is... what's the big deal? Both sides are guilty here and you're just fear and war mongering.

How does one come to that conclusion?

Linking an article for discussion is "war mongering" ?

Anyone saying Let's go invade Iran?

Nope.

Hmm. That's odd. They're acting just like sovereign countries exercising their right to do as they wish in their sovereign area. I don't see how the US and UN and NATO will stand for that. We need to bomb the whole bunch of them into freedom....

No, no one is saying or advocating the invasion of Iran. but, you can't expose Iran's dirty laundry and not be accused of warmongering.

Iran is a bit too powerful for a country under sanctions, I mean this country was supposed to be attacked in 2006 but the mighty US and her allies had to delay due to the Israeli failure in 2006 lebanon war, again in which Iran was involved and probably the only reason Hezb-Allah won.

I have a feeling that Iran will end this current age of US and Israeli hegemony and usher in a new age once the war begins, I feel as if this Iran is stronger than we like to believe, and I know Iran has international allies, from south america to Asia.

This conflict has the potential to spread throughout the region. On the other side you have Saudi Arabia providing arms to the rebels and increasing sectarian attacks in surrounding countries.

In a March 12 meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah asked his Jordanian counterpart to permit weapons shipments into Syria in exchange for economic assistance to Jordan, these officials say. Jordan hasn't yet agreed, they said.

The U.S. has opposed furnishing arms to the rebels, fearing that weapons could end up in the hands of al Qaeda or other extremist groups. But late Thursday, a top U.S. defense official suggested such a policy could potentially shift. Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the U.S. military's Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the Syrian opposition appeared to be taking steps to unite as a group, a development he said could help clear the way for international aid including arms.

After that picture of all those dead children killed by assad who actually died in Iraq, and the whole no wmd fiasco in Iraq, and the insallation of al CIADUH in Lybia, It is obvious to even the dumbest idiot you can't belive what is being said bad about Iran. ( sure they have thier problems... like the shah...
)

Odds are this is just another bs propaganda ploy like the underwearbomber turned out to be, to justify pedophilliac searches of people in american airports
