Alright, so everyone knows, this is a question thread--I need all different opinions and perspectives.

I recently moved out of mum's house, and in with my fiance and friends, and all the fallout food I've been saving for the past year, I left with my family. I left my little sister in charge of it, because I wanted them all to have a stash of their own, and I know my mother wouldn't buy it herself.

But, many things I used to buy were instant American ramen and instant mashed potatoes. After the things I've found out about ramen recently, I don't want to buy it anymore. It has almost no nutritional value, and barely takes up space in your stomach. Instant mashed potatoes aren't great either, but I'll buy a few boxes... cuz they're cheap.

I've excluded a lot of foods from the list that I used to buy. Now, here I am, starting over from scratch, and don't know where to start. I know to buy distilled water, and once we get a deep freezer, we'll get lots of meat, but that's about it.

Those of you truth seekers who store up fallout food, what do you store up? And why? Is it cheap? What do you suggest?

I'm open to anything, any suggestions. We get about 300$ in a couple weeks, I'm just trying to think ahead (we haven't been spending wisely lately).

Your thoughts...?

Roots. Ground water if youre lucky. Pre-aquired? Beans beans beans. Shelf life; Raw honey NOT heat treated. Is antiseptic in nature and will last forever in comfortable temp. Its food and open injury medicine in 1. Be aware it will burn an open wound. BURN. Heard of methialade? Burns worse. But will kill ANY known infectant and prevent further possibility of infection. Why is this not widely known??? The pharmaceutical companies cannot duplicate it, ergo cannot patent it. This is of God.

Buy you some seeds and canning jars and then plant a garden. Can your harvest. Use some of your harvest to also make soups to can.

A food dehydrator is also very useful and it's easy to do. Storage is easy (glass jars). You can dry all sorts of things.

All the canned foods contain BPA. I don't know if you considered that poisoned or not.

Food = energy. In a survival situation this should be your utmost concern.

If you are truly worried about vitamins and minerals, which traces can be found in just about everything that can be scrounged up, then a simple thing would be to stockpile cheap one-a-day multivitamins. The expiration on most of them is baloney anyway, and they survive for a couple years after that date.

I doubt you have more than a years supply worth of food, be it ramen or instant potatoes deficient of nutrients, and a cycled stock of multivitamins would easily supplement that stock to make it perfectly safe and reliable.

Dehydrated organic fruits and veggies in air tight sealed bags will last a good long time.
Lifewater bottle will turn ANY contaminated water into sterile drinking water.
Raw honey and good stash of organic seeds. That would be a start.
