The US military staged a mock drill in violation of 130+ years of the Posse Comitatus Act that bars domestic forces from active use on US soil.

The Secretary of State seemed to inform the conference that the State Department now had the unilateral authority to declare a limited state of war via an expanding liaison with US Special Operations Forces. Here are some direct quotes: ...

We created a new Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations that is working to put into practice lessons learned over the past decade and institutionalize a civilian surge capacity to deal with crises and hotspots.

Experts from this new bureau are working closely with Special Operations Forces around the world ... Our diplomats also saw that the UN staff in the region could be useful partners. So they worked through our team in Washington and New York to obtain new authorities for the UN officials on the ground and then link them up directly with our Special Operations Forces to share expertise and improve coordination.

The State Department and US Special Ops – a new, unelected and unaccountable power in the world? It is broader still ...

We have to keep our international cooperation going and growing at every level. Next week I'll be heading to Europe, and I'll end up in Istanbul for the second meeting of the new Global Counterterrorism Forum, which we helped launch last year. Turkey and the United States serve as the founding co-chairs, and we've been joined by nearly 30 other nations.

This really smells. Another nail in the coffin. Enough already!

Why is there even a need for bodies such as the U.N. or NATO? We the people of the world, are united in the belief that our leaders are overstepping their bounds in making the kind of decisions that they have been making on our behalf without our consent!

Does this make HIllary Der Kommander? So now the President, Congress and the State Department can all decide to go war. I have a notion where they can go.

The above quote from the article you cited is wrong. The Posse Comitatus Act does not ban the U.S. military from conducting training exercises, such as this, on American soil. If that was true, such exercises as Red Flag and Red Flag - Alaska would be illegal, and they're not.

In fact, the Posse Comitatus Act does not even prohibit members of the US Army or Air Force from exercising state law enforcement, police, or peace officer powers that maintain "law and order"; it simply requires that any authority to do so must exist with the United States Constitution or Act of Congress.

That's why federalizing the Alabama National Guard in 1963, making them part of the US Army temporarily, to enforce the right of two black students to enroll at the University of Alabama was legal but US Army MPs being sent to Samson, Alabama in 2009, without an appropriate request or authorization, to enforce traffic laws and secure a crime scene during a murder spree was not. The latter action resulted in a number of military personnel being subject to administrative action.

From *objective* reporting, the event you cite was a **DEMONSTRATION** of special operations forces, not an actual military operation. That is a VERY IMPORTANT DISTINCTION because one is merely an exercise/demostration and the other is an actual operation. The quotes provided merely sensationalize something that was nothing more than an exibition of the prowess of special operations techniques and open for the public to view/witness, much like an AIR SHOW.

This is not an example of any eroded liberty. This is an example of our military EXHIBITING and DEMONSTRATING its expertise.

Here is a youtube link to the demonstration in question. Seems more like a six flags theme park live action show than a military takeover.
