Defending the Country from Tyranny Within - What are the Guidelines?

"But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this ground."

Words are empty apart from action. Where does this action originate? Strength? Might? The ground we hallow is only as good as the people walking it. The ideals that make a nation great are held first by the people. Our governing institutions and leaders are not rulers, they are us. Our leadership will reflect the same character we reflect as a people.

"The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract."

The people defend the land, but the true defense is of the very persons who occupy the space. The founders who fought to keep a people free were motivated, not by the families they loved, but first by the source from which they came. The love that we all share for the family originates far from this land, yet as close as the family we cherish. Those who would endanger the Constitution, along with the rights and freedoms guaranteed by its intent, endanger their own families and future grandchildren. What act could be more selfish?

"The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here."

We are charged with the same task. We are charged with the defense of our Constitution, Liberty and Freedom to demand that our Government follow its charter. Do we do this by strength? Might? Civil War? Revolution? Rebellion?

"It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced."

We are the people of this land. Our work is the same as our Government and leaders. The commission of our founders is the same as it was in their day and age. The journey is the “Excelsior” cry of the ever-upward work to lead the world toward truth.

"It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion -- that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain -- that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom"

Not by Power. Not by Might.

We defend the constitution with the same Spirit that brought us here--Love, Freedom, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness for every citizen. We defend the constitution to ensure that we are free from the tyranny those who wont. This is accomplished apart from power or might.

Spirit has always won the victory.

Is there a defense of our Rights built into the laws of the land?

Yes

Title 18, Section 242 of US Code guarantees that no law can be enforced by those wearing the colors of the law if that law forces the one wearing the colors to deprivate rights guaranteed in the Constitution. It's a catch 22 for any lawmaker who passes a law deprivating rights. They are liable to the Code when the law is enforced. Passing such laws amounts to Treason against all American Citizens.

Deprivation of Rights Under Colors of the Law (Section 242, Title 18 US CODE)

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation,
or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory,
Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any
rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the
Constitution or laws of the United States, or to different
punishments, pains, or penalties, on account of such person being
an alien, or by reason of his color, or race, than are prescribed
for the punishment of citizens, shall be fined under this title or
imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury
results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if
such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a
dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this
title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death
results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if
such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated
sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or
an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned
for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to
death.
