A stray dog has completed a 1700km journey across China after joining a cycle race from Sichuan province to Tibet. The dog, nicknamed "Xiaosa", joined the cyclists after one of them gave him food. He ran with them for 20 days, covering up to 60km a day, and climbing 12 mountains. Cyclist Xiao Yong started a blog about Xiaosa's adventures, which had attracted around 40,000 fans by the end of the race.

BBC News Video

What better way to prove this than a video of the dog somehow keeping up with the cyclists, right? Seriously, though, this is one crazy stray in my opinion. Let's just say his appearance was quite surprising.

I am very surprised he can keep up with the cyclists, and go all this distance. I don't know what else to say. Watch the video.

He found his pack. They fed him, protected him, and even let him run out front.

Good friends are hard to find, but when you find them, running 1700km+ with them doesn't seem like a big deal.

The journey is as important as the destination. (Someone famous like Buddha or Confucius)

Hopefully the cyclists took things a little easier than they do on the Tour De France, enjoyed the scenery a little more than usual and bonded with their new found friend.
Looks like quite a small doggy so I hope they had plenty of watering stops for him. I'd die running that sort of distance. In fact I doubt I'd last 17 km's never mind 1700.

Ever been chased by a dog
while riding a bike? Right at your heels.
Although I have a feeling this dog
was no stray, and was physically
trained to do this, like a alaskan husky.
They go thousands of miles.. More of PR (public relations) stunt
then anything. It worked too..

Go dog go

Still neat even though it is fake

All well and fine but why does it then look like a stunted French Poodle?
(The best I could do, I'm not familiar with Dog breeds)
