Bush's Washington Headquarters broken into... files regarding their '72 Hour' get out the vote plan are stolen:

My guess: The GOP can always get turnout on social issues. At this point I have to think that Bush will have to start talking about partial birth abortion and embryo 'farming' inorder to make sure that he can get as many hard partisans to the polls as Kerry. The '72 Hour' plan undoubtedly reflected this... so, look for the Democrats to magically start coming up with advertisement that can head him off, there.

And, as we all know, those files are undoubtedly in Kerry's lap right now... even if the Dems, as an organization, didn't initially steal them.

Its simple.

You get as many people as you can and you get them to do as much as they can within a very short period of time.

That sounds like a by the book, Karl Rove trick. In 1986, Karl Rove claimed he found a bug in his candidate's office to distract from the debate. However, no evidence was ever found for the bug. By doing this, Karl Rove was able to help win an election in Texas. This souds like basically the same thing.

Wow, you guys sound like people who automatically assume that a crime victim invented their story for the sake of attention...

What will you do if it turns out that, even if the Dems didn't rob the place, they at least bought the files? Will you confess that they pulled a dirt trick? A couple of laptops are left in view of a window overnight. Someone decides they'd look even prettier in THIER window, and does a quick five-finger discount on them.

But of course, the first thing the owner says is "I'm sure it was politically motivated." How 'bout some proof? Heck, how 'bout a reasonable suspicion?

I agree crontab. This is simple disinformation to distract from the presidents lackluster performance in the debate. Unfortunately, it will probably work. The older folks will think of "Watergate" and Kerry might suffer "trust" loss with the voters. I don't believe that Kerry ordered a break-in at this point of the game. It would be political suicide.

I love this story. The dastardley Democratic operatives that stole a bunch of computers with data "backed up and available elsewhere" were obviously from a roving band of international cat burglers trained in the fine art of eluding experienced crime scene investigators.

Thanks goodness the campain staff were sleuthing on this one and were able to piece together the events of the crime.

Seaton was the first one in the office this morning. He did not notice the break-in until he walked into his office and saw a rock and broken glass on the floor.

That's one heck of a calling card if you ask me.

Anyway, there's hardly a honest strategy that isn't known, spammed in e-mails and posted on Freeper already. All this potential "leak" could EVER newly reveal is something illegal the RNC didn't want out, but my guess is those files were purged for DOOM memory about 5 minutes after they hit the pawn shop.

Surely the presidents employees would work in a building that would have an alarm, at least, a camera perhaps, and you would expect a secuirity guard if the information was classified, sensitive or whatever and you can
get those 'direct to the local police stations alarms', my pal works for Costco and even they have one.
And where did they? get that big stone in the down town area? If that was in a built up area it would be set in cement.
I'm not sure of the percentage, but who uses a laptop and leaves it at work?
Has all the makings of a quality Watergate style event unfolding. But I'm an eternal optimist.
