yeah, and it can start with the north american free trade agreement being sabotaged from the usa stealing all of Canadas beer and replacing it all with mexican beer, Dos Equis

Oh nooos, not Mexican alligator p*ss. Now if they traded me personally beer for Mescal, I could live with that. There are certain molecular bonding protocols between proteins and the "stuff" in those cactus they use to make Mescal. Stuff that Carlos Costanada wrote about, nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more ;-) LOL

Cheers - Dave

china is buying up america - oil land and leases, treasury debt without going through the stock market, land to build "cities", farmland, and now theaters? - North Korea is just china's launching pad. The Obama/Clinton/Bush administrations are selling out country out from under us. What's next? China buys out Fannie and Freddie and they own most of the real estate? People need to understand that our politicians are treasonous.

I love this movie!

Don't remake it!

As for "Red Dawn", that concept is so 1980s. It won't do well.

I love Red Dawn. I just wish the teacher in the beginning didn't have to die so soon. He would have made a great character for the movie.

What's Chinas problem? They dont have fiction in China?

I dont get all huffy when some white guy is a villain.

Fiction is fiction.

Now, if China has reason to believe this is t fiction.....well.....that's another story.

If a bunch of execs are worried about upsetting China that's PC stupidity. If China is worried the movie would paint them in a bad light then they've got nothing to worry about since they do a good job of that themselves. Trying to censor a movie for worldwide release being the least example.

I suggest, in order to maximize the capital potential of the movie, we replace the chinese with the warriors of Jerkistan. Americans will think its a real enough place, and nobody else gets offended (except for the people of jerkistan..and who likes them anyhow..bunch of jerks.)

All about marketing...not sure if a desire to get the most money is somehow a conspiracy...sort of a business model, no?

I think the movie is being released November 21, 2012.

(source)

It's funny, because when Red Dawn came out in 1984, no one seemed to care if they pissed off The Soviet Union. There were lots of movies in the '80s made about going to war with Russia. Why is it any different today? Guess everyone is too damn sensitive.

China is putting pressure on us not to release the film the way it was originally made, because it 'offends them.'

Haha - them offended? Maybe, but,

If you haven't seen this video coming out of China, check it out:

About the only thing offending I can see is that the greed mongers in Hollywood would try to give a decades old movie a 'makeover' and try to wring a few more bucks out of it.

Maybe now that state produced propaganda is back in fashion, we'll be getting some samples from the Chinese or at least taking cues from them.

I talked to people that worked on it and I think a lot has to do with it just being a bad movie. They are already in their 3rd round of reshoots. Who knows if it will just get shelved forever. I wonder if they will give the N Koreans some massive Navy fleet or if they will just magically appear in the states.

Wait an minute....do people in the USA still take the first movie seriously?!? Did they ever?

In the UK, it was one of those "so bad it's good" type films you'd watch with some mates while cracking a few beers and maybe other intoxicants... hilarious.

I can't believe anyone is upset about some cynical cash-in remake of an already terribad film is somehow getting "ruined" by changing it from one deeply unfeasible scenario - the Chinese invading, to another unfeasible scenario - the NK invading.

If it ever comes out it will be too stupid for words.
