Next up on ATS: How Farmville can teach you about the values of farming and how to harass your loved ones to fertilize your crops!

Also don't forget to tune in to the Cityville thread! Not does the game only teach you on the importance of having businesses in your city, but the ...uh...yeah. TUNE IN!

Hey, don't laugh...there might be something to that!

I never really got this game because Zombies eat flesh, not plants unless some hippie vegans becom Zombies?

Yes and no...if you replace "zombie" with "parasite", and then look at the life cycle of a parasite, the game will immediately make sense. You don't want the zombies in your "house" (your body). So, you use certain foods to keep them away - all the foods in the game, as a matter of fact. Zombies eat flesh, so do parasites...they eat you from the inside out. They hijack onto plants in order to get into other living organisms. Make sense now?

Well, that puts things into perspective. So if this is the truth, then we are being attack from all corners, which sucks like nothing.

You got it!
It's a constant battle, and one that people should never stop. These food items should be incorporated on a daily basis in different combinations. (Not all of them every day, but you know what I mean.)

Kind of gives new meaning to the idea of demon possession, huh? I have a theory on that one too, but it's only a theory.

My brother-in-law is the one who did all the artwork in this game. I have to show him this thread, he'll get a kick out of it! Ha!

Ha! That's awesome! I think....

Hey ask him if the main director/designer is a health nut!!!? Then report back of course..

Like other have said, good thread... Easy read and not bonkers by any stretch.

The wisdom is clear and sound: Health starts with nutrition

The conspiracy? Maybe... Hopefully Dorkenheimer will actually get back to us...

What I find interesting is this game is my girlfriend's ultimate all-time favorite... She's not a gamer either, but has replayed this game countless times (I've also logged my fair share of hours)... The interesting part is she is very into feeding us fresh foods and incorporating healing herbs and things into our diet. The other thing is, I guarantee she's never questioned the game's message from the OPs angle, but would CERTAINLY have a similar epiphany and agree completely.

Hmmm... I had two thoughts on the subject after reading your posts:

Why would zombies and plants fight? Zombies are exclusively flesh eaters and wouldn't have any interest in plants.

also

My low-carb diet eventually evolved from a low-carb high-meat diet to a diet that excludes all starches, sugars and alcohol. These days I take large amounts of seeds and nuts and high-fiber vegetables which seems to be good for keeping parasites away.

Replace "zombie" with "parasite", and it makes perfect sense. These plants are the mortal enemies of parasites which turn living organisms into zombies. Yes, they eat flesh...from the inside out.

Yeah, yeah, I'm not a big gamer, but my kid came home talking about this game, Plants vs. Zombies. I rolled my eyes, "really?" My kid excitedly says, "no really, you'd like it, check it out!" I hate zombies. I hate the whole zombie movement. I think it's stupid...until I checked it out, then I suddenly became very aware of a subtle message, and I couldn't believe it. Could a video game maker actually be trying to HELP for once? I think so, and it's no coincidence.
Yoau are making your kid your masterbation of games, no offense.
