It seems that the only place reporting this right now is Reuters. I wouldn't be surprised if many more were arrested, and hopefully we will find out in the near future what the real number of protesters arrested are. I hope they were arrested for valid reasons, but highly doubt it. Hopefully ATS will be able to help find more information on this and hopefully we can get the insights as to why these people were arrested.

"This is what police brutality looks like," said Ryan Zielinski, 23, a protester who said he was hit in the chest with a baton as police pushed protesters back. "All we're trying to do is protest and the police are attacking us."

Matt Howard, a former U.S. Marine who served in Iraq, was one of nearly 50 veterans who threw service medals into the street near the summit site in protest.

I also hope the people hurt in these protests, are all okay.

60 arrested at NATO protests

You protest violently and stupidly, you will get hurt.

Don't recall anybody getting hurt during TEA Party protests.

I'm glad some cops got injured.. Call me cynical, but its about time some of these power abusing pigs got a taste of their own medicine...

The violence started when a few people pushed against police and gave them an excuse to push the protest away from the area and order them to disperse.

Reeks of a plant, but that's just speculation.

Edit: Shots of the cops going to town with "truncheons"

NATO the only worldly organization we belong to that has any teeth. Why don’t they protest those freaks over at the UN?

Because protesters never turn violent or act like idiots. Everything is the fault of the police. It's always a false flag or agent provocateurs.

Also, I'm tired of people screaming police brutality when they get tickled. It only helps to diminish the seriousness of actual police brutality. Sort of like when people scream about America being a police state.

I would be willing to bet that it was a plant that started the shenanigans in most cases. 25% of the "protesters" were probably undercover police. I really hope there is a list of the reasons why the people were arrested.

I'm sure that's an accurate number.

Oh like arrest records or some crazy thing?

That's why it's speculation.

C'mon this is a conspiracy site.
Just wait and see how the MSM spins it.

Damn't! I actually had a good line for that and forgot to put it in that post. Now I've just forgotten it.

I mean sure I can see police sending in a few rabble rousers on occasion, but now we have people 'just speculating' that 25% of the crowd were undercover cops. What's next? Entire fake crowds of cops? Off to the prediction forum.

At the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, 1 in 6 protesters was an undercover cop. That was in 1968, this is 2012, they probably ramped it up a bit since then.

Well hell I never heard of that. Star. I also just learned that there is a term associated that I had yet to hear...

Police riot

Huh. Perhaps you are correct.

Well, if the FBI openly brags about entrapment and instigating all of the latest schemes they've been up to, including actually having to spend time "convincing people to be violent who were previously not violent".

What do you think goes on under that, nothing? I think a good majority of the confrontations are provocateurs, because they need a good show for the media in their favor. This would explain why when the crowd attempts to disperse when it gets too hot, the "police" corral them up preventing them from leaving, thus beating and arresting them because they "refused orders". So all the simple Jack and Jill Americans will say such cursory gems as, "Well they didn't listen.", "They should have left, I don't feel sorry for them."

No one should be hitting on anybody...

A little compassion goes a long way, and without compassion, people can't see past themselves.

I wish people could understand that it doesn't have to be like this.

We can only look towards the light, and understand that love is so much more powerful than hatred.

All scenes I saw from the anti-nato protests were far from "violent" to be honest.
Most people were marching uncoordinated in loose, small groups. No chains. Nothing like black bloc or hooligan behaviour.

I'm not condoning street violence, but if you're engaging with the police in the streets anyways you might aswell just do it right.
This is pathetic. Like turning the other cheek and asking for more beating by the police without giving any appropriate reaction.

Lots of stupidity but no noteworthy violence on the protesters part IMO.

Sources? just don't know what you are referring to specifically. Also I'm paid to disbelieve anything anti establishment. Don't mess with my lettuce.

I would actually tend to agree with that. I can sympathize with both the police and protesters. Protesters are passionate, police are grumpy... It would be good if the two P's could agree and remain civil.
