Hi Fellas.
I was thinking abot the possible future need for me to 'evacuate from this place'. Whatever the reason (civil unrest, war, the downfall of fukushima
and the sudden raise in terms of radiation) is, in this imaginary future scenario, in the present, I have absolutely no means of getting a gun. It
costs a ton of money around here. Although I have enough experience with a variety of handguns, bbguns and long guns, and I am a year above the legal
limit, it is just too damn expensive.
I have recently been to a hunters shop, and I was curious about what I'd need to own a gun. I explained that I need it for survival reasons, and that
I have absolutely no history of aggression related violence(means I never actually hurt anybody without provocation), and that I simply need a gun to
defend my home of intruders, and a means of hunting in case of a particular kind of cr*p hitting that fan.
From what I know about guns, I would need a semi-automatic long gun which fires 9 milimeter ammunition. They are kind of accurate, and the ammo is a
lot cheaper.
The only problem is: I haven't got the kind of money. I don't know about you, the people of the red-white-and-blue, but here, guns are kind of
illegal, and because of the legal issues, owning a gun costs a ton of money. Here, the minimum wage is around 60grands(forint) in a month. Which is
about 259 dollars.(for security reasons, I won't disclose my income) Now, just buying a gun would cost me around 170grand(which is around 728 bucks)
but the medical and legal examinations throw on another 30 grand(128 bucks). Together this would be about 200k(856 bucks).
Now this is the kind of money, I can't afford. I am not an enterpreneur, a drug dealer, or a thief, so I have absolutely no idea how to, or what to.
To acquire this kind of money, I would need to work for at around four months, without eating, or heating, or spending anything.
I was thinking about custom making a gun with a blacksmith, or even getting some illegal straps from below the border, I just couldn't bring myself to
it. Not that I have any regard for legality. I wish not to go to jail. But my life is more important, so I am kind of in between crap.
Now, for all of you gun haters, let me tell you that I sleep better with them than without them. With a gun, statistically there's around a 0.02
chance that I will accidentaly shoot myself somehow, without it, there are all kinds of possibilities of things killin me in me sleep. A lot of things
possible.
There's this idea of mine, building a crossbow with a car's spring leaf, and a custom made rolling block firing mechanism, I just could not figure out
what to use to 'pull it up'(don't know the right word) I haven't any relevant physical strenght. But the point is that I kind of fear that I'll need
to evac someday, and I'll not have the right equipment for long range hunting or self defense. Fortunately(kinda) I could go south a few miles, and
could go to a few markets(actual markets) where I can buy all kinds of things ranging from an AK47, to even grenades, relatively cheaply. But I am a
little reluctant of this option. I could settle with a hand gun(though I wish not to. I love long guns. I am this much more accurate with them.), Or I
could even build a medieval long range weapon by my own. I don't consider the bow, a good choice. For this, I have many reasons, but this isn't really
a good option(IMHO) so I'll pass it.
First of all, I would like to hear arguments. What'd you do to acquire some long range weaponry without essentially spending much, or involving the
authorities. Not that I wan't to do anything illegal, but I don't like them and I don't want to involve them. If you think you know a better
alternative, or you have arguments on one of the weapons I mentioned above, feel free to post. I wouldn't like the preachings of the gun haters. They
kind of bugger me off(letting the civilians be disarmed is both stupied and a very bad sign) If you wish not to use guns, that is your choice, but you
will not turn my opinion. A few thousand pages on gun owning was perfectly enough to convince me.
Thanks in advance.
P.S.: Also, If you know about cheap 9mm firing relatively reliable long guns, please, inform me about them. And Please, adhere to the topic.
Keep up the good fight.
add: Also, It would be important to have one with more range, and one I can swing easily. Mainly because I plan on bringing a single companion(who
physically would not be able to use anything more than a simple handgun), but it is important to be versatile. Also, this two would preferably use the
same caliber. Better to ration, and less suspicious to get just one type of round.
