Mods feel free to move...not sure if I put this in the right place.

First of all, sorry about the length of this post. I tried the shortened and condensed version but it left way too many windows of opportunity for the trolls. I know that they’ll still find their way in but I have to believe this version has limited the liability a bit.

What I would really love is if we (here on ATS) could participate in building a business plan…it’s time to share our thoughts and hash this stuff out or we are ALL going nowhere fast. Post your thoughts and ideas and let’s look for continuity.

I respectfully request that the trolls stay away from counterproductive measures that include an unnecessary dissection of a business plan’s numerous components. Let’s just try to agree on some basics before we rip it apart. Thanks.

In the last six months or so the “revolution” based threads have increased here. That same sentiment (calling for a revolution) is starting to spill into the streets. Not a day goes by anymore where I don’t hear someone in my community or family members/friends calling for a revolution. It seems that after the words there is little or no follow-up. In other words, there is no start to the revolution. Or is there? Is the sentiment enough; and if it is, what is it that is being started?

The reason (IMO) for the lack of obvious signs that something has started is because we all have our own ideas of what a real revolution is. We all seem to be prioritizing based upon personal needs. Moral, ethical, religious and personal tenets mold our responses almost immediately when we conjure up thoughts of resistance or change. Where do we start? Why can’t we get a grip on what we need changed and agree to move forward?

How can we start the ball rolling and get some momentum here? What is the consistent thread that is sewn into the fabric of humanity? What is it in our individual cores that we can all relate to? When we answer that question, then we can truly start.

The problems that we are ALL faced with are a total degradation of humanity and a lack of appropriate and effective human response. A moral code needs to be resurrected and shared by all. So where do we begin?

Whatever the effort, it has to be sustainable. There has to be a core of adherence. Much like a great business plan, there needs to be a well thought out series of events that maintain an order that feeds directly back into the strength of the core (purpose). We’ve got to ask ourselves what is our purpose? This is just like a business decides what it sells/provides to become profitable. There has to be a start-up phase that affords opportunities to test ideas and to bring to market the concept. From that phase (start-up) we would be up and running with a better understanding of effective efforts and a true awareness and recognition of obstacles/competition. This is when the plan takes a more deliberate course that leads to profitability and or the exit strategy.

Q(s): So where do we start? What can we all agree upon?

A(s): How about basic human rights? I know that this isn’t a new or novel idea but what can we do with this core to make it effective and sustainable? Hell…maybe even profitable?

Click to view the UN’s declaration of human rights PDF.

Hopefully you have now read this list and have a starting point that we can share our thoughts on.

Take this list and ask yourself one question;
If it were my business to successfully promote and implement these human rights what would I do and where could I start?

Maybe the better way to handle this is to answer some questions about the phases of operation. The product/service that we are selling is basic human rights.

Let’s try this:

Phase 1 Concept:
I have populated this based upon the fact that we are bringing basic human rights to market. Let’s make this product/service as popular as say…cell phones!

Phase 2 Research & Development (planning):
This is the phase that we would technically be in now;
Let’s consider the following (your ideas here)…
• Marketing-
• Demand Analysis-
• Identifying Competition (obstacles)-
• Identifying Other Obstacles-
• Support (how do we support those who are participating?)
• Market Analysis (where do we begin in an effort to obtain sustainable traction while developing an indestructible foundation?)-
• Goals-
• Exit Strategy- is there one--or is this ongoing?

The other phases that we can hopefully discuss later would be:

Phase 3 The Young Business
Phase 4 The Growth Stage
Phase 5 The Expanding Business Stage
Phase 6 The Established Business
Phase 7 The Mature Business Stage
Phase 8 The Exit Strategy

I look forward to your answers and for those who do respond, thank you in advance for putting your thoughts and minds on something that is productive…let go of the doomsday stuff for a while and try to imagine this world as a better place that is suitable and comfortable for all of the human race. We are all connected and we are all desperately needing to understand and properly utilize that connection.

In Peace…mightyquincunx

Unfortunately, we cannot all agree on most things. We need, at minimum, 2 new countries to come out of the revolution. One for the liberals and one for those of us willing to work to support ourselves. Even your UN declaration has parts I do not like

Article 10.

Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him.
I prefer a jury of my peers thank you very much

Article 14.

(1) Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.
No thanks. We already have way to many illegal immigrants here.

Article 22.

Everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through national effort and international co-operation and in accordance with the organization and resources of each State, of the economic, social and cultural rights indispensable for his dignity and the free development of his personality.
Keep your socialism to yourself and your hands out of my pockets please.

Article 23.
(3) Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection.
Again, just say no to socialism

Article 25.

(1) Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
Why so socialist???

(2) Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.
If you cannot afford children don't have sex.

Article 26.
(2) Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace.
Education needs to be reading, writing and arithmetic. Leave social education to the parents/church; not the government.

You get my point? Utopia for you is a socialist horror for me.

Thank you for your response. It is the opinions that matter and it is from the differences that we can establish continuity. Part of this process (IMO) is to see through to the truth about human rights. The UN version is not the only version and I have used it as a reference to establish dialogue and talking points. The real version is the one that would (hypothetically) be created by this phase of the plan. R&D. That's what it is.

Thanks again for taking the time to read my post and to form an opinion about the Human Rights documentation that was provided in the link. Product development ::laughs::

BTW...I agree with many of your points and I appreciate the constructive approach to this dialogue.

Peace.

I read the UN PDF and was pleasantly surprised. If I may make a suggestion in terms of "rights." I think you need to keep in mind that a "right" is something someone else does not have to provide for you. As an example, I have the "right" to free speech. All that means is that you cannot constrain me from speaking my mind. I have the "right" to keep and bear arms (notably lacking in the UN document, of course). That doesn;t mean you are required to provide me with them.

But when people start saying, "I have the right to free health care," then that creates a slave class because other people can be compelled to provide the goods and services you claim to have a "right" to. I see the same kind of problem when you say you have a "right" to a job. Well, you certainly have the right of non-discrimination in the hiring process, but to say you have a "right" to a particular job compels and employer to hire you. You can't build an economy on rights like that.

BTW, not saying you are headed there, just setting out the distinction up front.
