help me locate a story, saying,,, please, pretty please

hope you all can help.,,,,,, i bet this is pretty easy,,, i hope............


i remember reading a little story,,,,, maybe a chain email,,,,,,,,,,,, i can't figure out in google what to call it,,, a short story, euphemism, chain email etc


anyway


the story went something like this


this is the short version,,, the jist of it,,,, that i can remember,,,, so bare with me,,,,


a rich man said to an unemployed man fishing on the beach,,,, island

why don't you go to school,,,learn to read,study real hard,,,,, thentake out 80,0000 in loans and go to college,,,,,,,,, then work 20 years toiling to pay off the loans and working 60 hours a week to put money away,,,,, start your own company and work long hours to save money,,,,,and build up business

then sell the company for big bucks,,,,,,,, then you can retire and live on the beach and spend yours days fishing


and the guy says,,,,, why do that,,,,,,,, i'm already on an island// beach fishing????



something to that effect



it was a story about the alure of money,,,,, instead of enjoying our days and doing what we want now,, instead of being a slave for most of our lives,,,,,,, instead of chasing bliss,,,,,, money over happiness,,,,, or us being brainwashed into what we believe is normal,,,, what's exceptable,,, the typical life path


i remember it blew my mind reading that,,,,,, and i can't find it again

no clue here, sorry.

But I loved the story and the moral of it. Nice! Almost Buddhist in nature but too modern for the Upanishads. Hope ya find it.

No, I just did a perfectly ordinary google search...

story rich man fisherman

...or something like that. Came up in the first two or three results.
Once I found the story, I could then search for that exact thing on ATS.

LOL I saw this on a Benny Hill skit.
