This is the same logic that attributes every national threat to that bearded guy who got killed last year. It wasn't Anon, it was only an Anon-style attack.

There are many organisations who control bot-nets large enough to take down PB with a DDoS attack. A nation state could even use this attack to perhaps damage Anons popularity. So although the attack holds true to style, philosophical disagreements between the two do not a motive make.

I sure hope they get back up soon. I need to download my regular dose of kiddie porn.

There is no child porn on TPB, you need 4chan for that.

There is another discussion going on with this in another thread, but I will copy and paste what I have wrote there here as this seems more active, it's pretty much what I have already said, plus quotes from wikileaks.

They have stated they are suffering a DDoS attack, most likely from a copyright holder(s) trying to make it look like anonymous, they have also said that __._ is under heavy attack too. Apparently they will be back tomorrow.

EDIT:

To quote The Piratebay:

Just to clarify, we KNOW that it is NOT Anonymous who is behind the ddos attack. Stop spreading rumours like that. We may not agree with Anonymous in everything, but we both want the internet to be open and free. There, now carry on with whatever it is you were doing

He said

It seems to be running, not sure about the torrent side of it all

and then in 2nd line posted a simple link to The Pirate Bay.

This seems an over the top post action?

edit on 16-5-2012 by xecoybh because: (no reason given)

next time ill open a thread as its happening, now how would you classify that post, would that be an over the top response or perhaps something far more sinister

My ref was to extreme t&c violation applied to your post. That was over the top... simple offtopic would suffice...

oh..man..seems like i put my foot in my mouth for the second time in several minutes... me bad ...

As for the XTRM T&C , umm, yeah i suppose to others its xtreme and to others its a simple case of "oops, i should have known better", nevertheless, it was unintentional and its water under the bridge for me.

Well PirateBay's been blocked by almost all ISP's here in the UK (mine included!), however the mirroring effect will just continue on. PB has grown too big to just be 'blocked' by the Governments, and for all those in the UK, here is a mirrored link right here below...

tpb.pirateparty.org.uk...

Not sure how long it will last for you, but THEY'LL be more!

That comment was no where near funny.

At least you Got the joke. I can't say the same about other guys around here.

I only use TPB torrents of compilations of old books which would otherwise be unavailable since they're mostly out of print. Those books mostly support my own research of what I post around here. No porn, kiddie or otherwise.
