An E-mail sent to me by an American Friend...Thought it might be interesting to pass on...

Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans… Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years
to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it
right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right
and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right;
$1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the
poor" and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years
to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right
and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence
on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion
a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right
and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our
throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED
WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??

Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our "duly elected' (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.

AND

I know what's wrong. We have lost our minds to "Political Correctness" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone please tell me what the HELL's wrong with all the people that run this country!!!!!!
We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????
In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey ..And now Pakistan ........previous home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks…

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries. Sad isn't it?

99% of people won't have the guts to forward this.

I'm one of the 1% -- I Just Did

So government ran healthcare sucks but the government should stop sending aid overseas and help support those needing medicines instead.

Wal-Mart to fix our economy? The one who pays it's workers so low that many qualify and are encouraged to apply for government assistance? The ones who destroyed local economies and centralized all the profits?

it's the gov't that is broke and the post office, the social security, medicare, ect are the victims of the crazy people running the gov't!!!

the fine republicans passed legislation that required the post office to stash money away for the retirement of employees that aren't even born yet...... so ya, they have a problem....

social security has enough treasuries notes in it's accounts to keep running.....but that would be that the gov't would have to pay back all that money it has borrowed throughout the years.....

the agencies aren't broken, they are being run by imbeciles that are bought and paid for by big corps and are too busy doing thier bidding to care about running this country!!!

wal mart on the other hand, is just one heck of a successful chain store!!! weather or not that success could be transferred over to a governmental agency is questionable....

hey, if we outsource the gov't to china, we can have all these fraud infested dirty bankers killed off quite quickly probably

just how is that any different than the multitude of companies out there that are also paying low, low wages..

heck, I would make more working for wal mart than I am now!!!

I think that all the griping leveled at wal mart for the way the treat their employees is really quite unfounded...
the entire job market is heading, had headed in that same direction.

Walmart is a terrible corporation, sorry but it is. It has aided in the destruction of our economy, not helped it.

Walmart pays their employees enough to get on food stamps. With all those profits they could pay more, but choose not to.

Walmart aids in the suffering of slave sweat shop workers in China, boy they're great.

Obamacare isn't really government run, it forces you to buy private insurance. It is fascist.

Because if you're using Walmart as an exemplary model and they can't even manage their own house, aka relying on government assistance for their workers, then they aren't any better than the US government. Thought that was an obvious connection.

where is the exemplary model???

where are the products that are produced solely by american workers??

it seems to me that the only areas that we are seeing decent wages in, are areas that are in some form or fashion recieving their gov't assistance directly (healthcare, higher education, defense contractors and to a lesser extent, the companies that they subcontract to) as opposed as indirectly (relying on the gov't to feed their employees)

the problem isn't the wal marts of the world, it's much more ingrained into the economy than wal mart!!!

All those "facts" are great, however, I'd be much happier if they were sourced. I'm not disputing them, merely looking for something to back them as it carries more weight...

wal mart is just as corrupt as the government. first and foremost, the people who run wal mart are not loyal to anyone or thing, except the dollar.

they broke the very first rule their founder sam walton had, american made products only, they make manufacturers sell to them so cheap, that there is hardly any profit left for the mfg's . why do you think at least 80% of the goods they sell are made in china.they pay their people little to nothing, and if they think they can get away with, they make people clock out and work off the clock. they are constantly being taken to court for labor violations.and not to long ago there was the 24 million dollars bribe thing that was going on in mexico. these are but a few

let them run the country, no thank you i'll stick with the crooks we got now.

I think Wal Mart is like the govt, they just manipulate and steal better.

I use to love Wal Mart but it changed when Sam Walton died and his family took over. I don't shop at Wal Mart anymore unless I can't find it anywhere else. I prefer Publix or the Dollar Tree. Wal Mart has horrible customer service and their employees are rude. I know not all are like this but the Wal Marts where I live the people are rude and lazy. They complain about their job while ringing you up and chatting with other employees. I just stopped going there because of their service and their lack of decent products.

Wal Mart also out sources a lot! They have cut many different jobs in the states and out sourced them. How is that helping people here?! It isn't. Sam Walton would be rolling in his grave right now. This is not how he wanted his company. Wal Mart outsourcing is just them making more profit by paying overseas rates and not having the same labor laws as the states when it comes to benefits and pay. So they don't have to pay out as much and they can make more. Here is just the google search results for Wal Mart Outsourcing .

Wal Mart's people running the country would be no different than the people in office now.

I'm not a Wally World fan. In my area, they are driving the dagger even deeper in the backs of local merchants by spending millions on expanding all of the older stores to sell a full line of grocery items. I applaud any community that is able to fight them off when they aim to lay bricks in their neighborhood.

Wal-Mart as the cure all? Are you high? Wal-Mart destroys local economies, has actively participated in the destruction of the manufacturing sector and pretty much ensures it's employees qualify for government assistance. Yet this is the model you want the Government to use? They destroyed the toy stores, they have pushed other "big box retailers to bankruptcy and are working on the book sellers now. And you see this as a good thing?

Ah, the dreaded hysterical email forward...

Sounds like propaganda scripted by a WalMart PR firm to counter the fact tht they are under investigation for bribery in Mexico. Not to mention that they squeeze the life out of locally owned businesses, decimate the suburban communities they locate in and then abandon and exploit and discriminate against their workers. Sounds like they already run Washington.

whoop de do.
that is just a rouse, to make them seem family friendly.
they care not, any company that would secretly take out life insurance policies on it's employe's and cash them in when they died whether they still worked for them or not. is nothing but greedy to the bone if not pure evil.

"Wal-mart...your source for cheap plastic crap."
They are HORRIBLE to employees (I used to work there), kill small businesses, and force people like me (live in a town of about 7k) to shop there, and work for them.
They overtook my town and gave us all no option but to go there.
If only Sam were still alive. This is NOT what he wanted of his beloved company.
