Sounds like a terrifying reality out of a science fiction movie. I am honestly quite figthened of this possibility.

Good points....UAVs are, at least in part, the future.

But I still think having a person in teh cockpit is beneficial....especially with human control being a huge factor.

I mean, even Star Wars/Buck Rogers/Battlestar Galactica had a manned craft, and as mentioned. I don't like the idea of the terminator scenario.

I certainly do not for see the end of manned military aircraft in total. We are facing a serious problem however when planes like the F-22 cost in excess of 230+ million dollars a pop. Add to the fact it has to be kept on a leash to prevent it from killing the pilot. An expendable limited mission UAV may be a reasonable compromise. For now, for missions that require maximum flexibility, including the option to kill nothing, requires human control. In something like a single target, cruise missile's with pre-programed instructions with "options" can suffice.

One area I have not seen addressed is providing ultimate human control remotely, which also requires unbreakable command and control communications to and from the UAV. Our recent loss of a stealth drone over Iran raises certain questions about that in my mind.

I love "military moves". Nicely played.

Nice to see your comment, as in "nicely played". I hope it was not sarcastic, no offense of course. Even sarcasm has its place. Can be a powerful "motivator of change". Sometimes it takes that to provoke change for the better.

PLEASE NOTE: I at great effort, now can access my original moniker which was "arbiture" so will be going back to that handle as I have most of my posts there. Wish me luck!

Also most likely made in china.

You do realize that America is the second largest exporter of goods. Also 60% of the products made in China is made by foreign companies. That number spikes up to 87% when it comes to high-tech software

China has a carrier killer missile, this is designed to take off without the need for a carrier, thus countering China's carrier killing capabilities.

Yes. But carriers travel with a mini fleet and the ships that it travels with can make the missile think that the carrier is somewhere else, assuming that you're talking about the same missle I'm talking about
