Ah, yes, the insidious world of blog page-view inflation conspiracies!
The bizarre story of Sarah Phillips, the ESPN freelancer and alleged Internet scam artist, continued on Wednesday, as more people came forward to say
they were conned by the former columnist.
Phillips, who posted around 10 items per month for ESPN since she was hired in September, was terminated Tuesday after Deadspin identified her as the
ringleader of a scheme that allegedly conned popular web producers out of rights to their content. The 22-year-old used her lofty status as an ESPN
writer to convince youngsters with high follower counts on Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook to join a non-existent sports comedy venture. In exchange for
a stake in that site, the producers turned over their comedic Facebook pages and parody Twitter feeds to Phillips and others.

Keep using the word alleged around here and you're going to start getting slammed hard. You're on ATS now, no need for that PC bull***t.
She was dong this before ESPN hired her into a "lofty position". As if that's what gave her the ability to con people. She's a con artist, plain
and simple. Assuming of course that that this person really is a female ( has anyone met her in the flesh and blood yet?) and that her name is Sarah
Phillips. She is a con artist after all.
Do you know what's wrong with the world alleged in this story? It's a word that is most often used in courtrooms and was in existence long before
the internet was around. It's connotation is outdated. It was used before there were ways of obtaining irrefutable proof of someone's innocence or
guilt, and it fit in perfectly with the premise of guilty before proven innocent. Those days are dead and gone
Everything she did she did online. It can all be traced back to the person who did it all, and knowing how vain and cocky people can be, she probably
had her web cam trained on herself the whole time.
"She" can apologize all "she" wants, I don't feel sorry for "her".
I still think the real persons name is George Costanza though.
