If you could be sure of what you were getting through to and if such a thing were possible would you wish to speak with any departed loved ones?

Of, course I know of the EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) but if it's true it doesn't let you contact a specific person does it?

As for me if I were a 100% sure it worked I might be tempted to give it whirl. Well, here is an article where a father who is an egineer claims he has created such a device. Well here is the story. Would you try it or do you think its a waste of time and money?

Reporter: Ted Achaladis
Original story
Janice Podsada

GRANBY, Conn. — In 2004, 17-year-old Melissa Galka, a senior at Granby Memorial High School, died several days after being seriously hurt when the car she was driving hit a tree on Silver Street in Granby.Within days of her death, she began communicating with her family, her father Gary Galka told The Courant Monday. “She started doing things like ringing the doorbell, changing TV channels, turning lights on and off,” Galka said.

“I’ve created over 30 different products for paranormal research. No one was making products for these people,” Galka said. The crew of “Ghost Adventures” uses several of Galka’s devices: the Mel-Meter, the SB7 Spirit Box and other devices to detect paranormal activity when they film each episode.

Galka’s most recent invention is a device that he says can detect shadows in the dark.

If this is real, I think many, many people would take advantage of such a device. I know my brother would, no hesitation at all. He lost a very dear friend to him in early December.

Sounds very much like the Spiricom Project. This is an old thread, but has some of the same issues.

You beat me to it! I was just about to post this, haha.

To answer your questions - If I was absolutely sure that it would allow me to talk to my deceased loved ones, then YES, of course I would try it out.

I'm pretty skeptical when it comes to EVP's, and I think most of them are simply people's brains trying to make sense of random noise (Pareidolia). The only time I'm able to "understand" what an EVP is saying is when the T.V. show includes a caption while playing the sound.

I'm not able to watch the entire 43 minute video you included right now, but if there are any examples of this guy's device in use, can you point me to the correct video time?

Thanks!

I think at one point we will be able to communicate with the departed through some sort of wavelenght. We are made up of engery so all it takes is to tap into a different dimension. I'm not sure if you guys watch this show on Biography Channel called "My Ghost Story" but most of these stories they show, feature really good EVP's. Class A, sounds like a living person EVP. My problem with that is that its way too clear and a little bit hard to believe.

I've heard some good ones before and most of them are just a few words, not complete sentences like on that show. Sounds very made up if you ask me.

I don't believe this is at all possible, but if it were would I want to use it?

No. Never.

What if you spoke to a loved one and they told you they were suffering, or in an endless void of night, and conscious of every passing empty second? That an infinity of blackness surrounded them and they could never escape it.

Could you bear to hear that? I could not.

The machine is, in my opinion, bollcks to prey on the gullible and weak.

Yes, after watching the video, I was let down as well. Not at all what I thought was going to be presented.

I just finished watching this video and although I really feel for the family, I cant help to think that maybe this dad should really just let go.

For starters, we aren't exactly sure what happens to us after death but what if it isn't his daughter that is communicating and appearing. It could be something else that is playing tricks on him. Also, I try do believe that we should just let those who have passed away rest in peace. I know he is trying to hold on to her and maybe have some hope but the harsh and sad reality is that perhaps he is just holding her spirit bound to this earth by communicating with her. If anything, he should really just tell her to transition to a better place (heaven if there is one) and that one day they will re-unite. Maybe they will meet the closure they are looking for. Good episode and definitely very touching.

I told my wife I thought Zak was a low-IQ gay guy, my arm still hurts where she hit me!!
EVP's seem to have something to it.... this guy reminds me of the bond I have with my daughter, we are such pals and I would go off the deep end if I lost her, which seems like that is what this man has done.
If one believes in familiar spirits or demonic activity they prey on these feelings.
If anyone is interested I can tell you a few stories regarding my sister who died way to soon and was very tuned into the 'spirit world'.
By the way, have you seen the Dead Files? Pretty good as I fear GA is starting to get like the Ghost hunters (more 'help' aka faked stuff!).

Yeah no one messes with our ghost man lol

That would be great if you could share the story. I really do feel bad for the dad though.. I hope he really does find some kind of closure to this and doesnt make this entire obession.

As for the Dead Files, I watched it once and I just couldnt get into it. That girl they use for a psychic kinda gets on my nerves for some reason. I read on Zak's Twitter that tonights episode will feature Vince Neill (from Motley Crue) as a special investigator. I cant wait to see that tonight
