At 2:20 of 4/22/2012, Iwakuni Otake Petrochemical Complex of Mitsui chemicals got lightning strike to explode.

The complex is still on fire, and 3379 units of radioactive waste (200L in each unit) and Uranium for nuclear fuel are preserved in the site.

Japan keeps getting hit over and over. How would lighting cause such a fire as this? You would think that they would have certain protections in place to keep this from happening. A lightning strike? What are the chances of that, and how could it be possible that such a dangerous complex does not have shielding or earthing built in? Does that mean ALL stores of ALL toxic and radioactive waste, AND ALL NUKE PLANTS are vulnerable to lightning strikes? It should be noted that this is talking about chemicals on fire.

Not the nuclear material - which is not flammable, encased in lead-lined concrete... and about as fire proof as you can get.

The facility is just on fire because it processes chemicals unrelated to nuclear power that are flammable.

If anything - this poses a potential security issue as the calamity may open up opportunities for nuclear material to grow legs and walk off. But that's somewhat unlikely, and the regulatory commissions will be monitoring the site to ensure that doesn't happen.

Its like the game Sim City. You get to build your cities and then choose the natural disasters to come and destroy it. I wonder if the have the alien option to come and shoot beams?
