You're just jelly because you don't have a day where everyone takes care of you.

It's hardly a liberal twistization of holidays.
Most holidays are setup the way they are due to marketing campaigns. A couple of examples:
1. Valentine's Day was a marketing campaign by Hallmark cards, because there were no "card based" holidays between Christmas and Easter.
2. The image of Father Christmas as accepted by children around the world was a licensed corporate trademark of the Coca-Cola company, one of those that they lost the trademark on due to massive public familiarity, similar to "aspirin" etc. Go back to books in the late 1800's and see if you can find any discussions of Christmas that mention Father Christmas or Santa, you can't. Father Christmas is VERY loosely based on Saint Nicholas, a German Saint,
There are quite a few other examples of holidays and/or holiday symbols that are complete marketing gimmicks.

We had an Earth Day event on campus yesterday and everyone took turn cooking food for everyone, different bands played, and various people set up activities and games for everyone. It was a mixture of hippies, suits, preps, southern, new age, christian, atheist, and many other types of people just getting along. It was fun. Fact.
2nd fact, you're #posting and stirring a pot of hate. Stop it.

I saw your other thread about the Obama impeachment due to the Secret Service debacle. I'm calling you out on #posting on ATS. That's just all it is, I'm calling you out on it. You're ranting about absolutely nothing. We're sitting int he hub of a commercialized society and you're playing some left/right drum blaming one side for something that is woven into the fabric of our contemporary living.

Sounds like the type of kid who's parents gave him an easter basket, then hid all the candy till he went to sleep and then they ate it... its not our fault your parents ruined the holidays for you. Get over it

My mother and father died before I was born. I hope you feel better now,
