To NOT USE it is downright STUPID

Yucca Mountain Complex is on the Nevada Test Site property. This is the Area that was used for all those nuclear tests in the 50's and onward. The ground in that area is already saturated with Plutonium for the next 25,000 years at least, so IF there were any leaks it wouldn't make it any worse.

And if that stuff is all stored in that mountain... years down the road when another scientist figures out how to use that radioactivity directly (lie a solar collector instead of just boiling water) then Nevada will have a rich stockpile of energy

The idiots that stopped the plan to put it in Yucca should be executed in public as Public Enemy #1, either that or stuffed in a barrel of nuclear waste
